It won't blow up due integrity. If someone shoots at you when you're ship is at shambles though, that's another story altogether then.

Integrity gives penalty to armor protection. Nothing too much to worry. I went on a 40k LY trip in an asp and had 700k bill. Sold it instead

I think you can only lose around 30% integrity but, as others have said, that is a disadvantage if you get attacked
