How long should my FSD jump to reach the Beagle Point?

Currently I am flying to Beagle Point in Sidewinder (yes, I know, this is not an exploration ship, but I want to do it using exclusively a Sidewinder).

My FSD jump range is 32 LY. Can I reach Beagle Point with that range not using FSD injections? Is this possible?

What's your fuel capacity? You need to know what jump range it has with very little fuel. I got to Beagle Point on 32.4 LY by doing the second last jump on half a tank. Half for me was still 16 tonnes though.
If you can get that far, the jump is 33.4 LY. But getting there wont be easy. I did it with .4 LY more than you. If I get a chance I'll track down the route I used.

P.S. Running on fumes is risky.

I can jump 2 times, then my tank goes empty :) Jumping only to scoopable stars. Also i have x50 25%, x50 50% and x50 100% injections just for case

Not possible without jumponium (fsd injections) AFAIK. There is at least one 33.4 ly jump.

That may be the only one though. If you cross the Abyss at Ronceveux 32ly should be fine, I got across in a 22.8ly Cobra mk4 with no jump boosts.

For the 33.4 LY jump, you'll maybe need a boost. 25% should be enough. The boost is safer than running on low fuel.

This route by CMDR Stulli should get you there with only that one boost. There might be some big jumps before the route depending which way you come but you should be fine. I was, and I had no Jump boosts available, or an SRV.

Where can I find Ronceveux Crossing route? Can you tell me starting system name and ending system name?

Much appreciated, don't worry about formatting :)

Roncevaux Crossing QAUTHEIA BA-A E0
Sublustris Beacon CHEAE EURL AA-A E0

From the beacon onwards watch out for Brown Dwarfs, a lot of people ran into them. Stay above the 0 Y co-ordinate.

I'm setting up for the BP trip and although I have an unmodded Asp with a jump of 33.5...I would feel more secure with the ability to 'boost', there lies the rub! What, how and where is jumponium? Is there a video that will explain it all to me? I'm currently working on my Asp loadout because I wish to take an SRV and in its existing loadout was capable of 33.5 and got me 20kly out and back a few months back...changing it to allow the SRV and add other bits n pieces will presumably fr the jump.. chmece needing to know about jumponium....if you or others would be so kind Cmfr

This design will get you out into the Big Empty quite handily, and is 33.97 LY with an SRV. If you add a mining laser, you get this and a range of 33.78 LY.

Many thanks bud...just what i'm looking for...that's poifect! Rep to you Cmdr...see you in The Darl Cmdr...hope you have an Interdiction free day and all ya rocks are Painite!

It's worth noting if you're cash strapped that you can cut 21 mil off of Crystoph's design if you swap down from a 6A to a 6B scoop, and your scoop time will be only slightly affected. I personally did Distant Worlds with a 6C scoop and this setup, which at about 19 million is a very cheap long range explorer. After I got back I dropped the hangar back down to a 1-buggy (turns out SRVs are a lot more rugged than we'd feared) and popped the scoop up, ending up with this. My current fit uses a 3A instead of a 2A power plant partially to avoid power management shenanigans and partially because my engineered FSD takes a bit more power. In both ships I retained 5D thrusters and a 4D distributor because I like the extra safety margin, but lots of pilots clock lots of light years without such things.

My question is: Can he make it across The Abyss in a tank he can only jump twice in before he has to scoop? I seem to remember a lot of unscoopables in the abyss, maybe he can.....I just don't remember.

I want to do it using exclusively a Sidewinder).

It's been done before but with a lot of help from other commanders. I don't imagine you managed to fit a vehicle hanger in there. Unless you farmed a lot of jumponium before you set off :p
