Are you counting your Tier 3 points toward your total? As I understand it, they are not backward compatible.

Did you get your asteroid station built yet?
Just a quick thought. I picked my system specifically cause it supported an Asteroid Station. I finished all my Tier 1's (3) but couldn't seem to unlock the Asteroid Station. The "Begin Construction" button never came live. Maybe you are seeing the same thing?
At first I thought it was cause of the Colonization pause, but that was not the case. The reason why mine APPEARED locked was a non-obvious issue with the user interface.
Note that when you select the "Asteroid Station", and it shows all the materials, you ALSO have to click on the specific station TYPE! There is only one Asteroid TYPE so its not obvious you have to click it. Once I figured that out, and clicked the single type, my "Begin Construction" button came alive. I finished my Asteroid Station yesterday.

If a system is weird with just one Sun and one asteroid field (without any planets), then your first build has to be an asteroid station, right?
If the architect view only shows one spot in the asteroid belt, then yes, I expect so...
...not sure if that would be a good system to grab though as you would be pretty low on options moving forward.
You don't need Tier 3 points for an Asteroid Base. You only need 3 x Tier 1. (as its a Tier 2 facility)

Not quite interested in developing the system, just want to have an asteroid base to call my home and park my ships there - always liked them.
As a matter of fact, I'd gladly build someone an asteroid base in his/hers lucrative system for free, just to be named as I want (nothing problematic).
That's why I was clarifying. The OP said he had 3 construction points, but if any of them are tier 3, they won't work for an asteroid base because they aren't backward compatible. It has to be 3x tier-2 points.
Maybe this was already mentioned or discussed, but when I did my first space station the system selected where it would be placed, I never got any opportunity which I presume is just how it is......
So my question is when trying for an asteroid base and the system itself has rings and belts, etc, corresponding with such a system, how do you even know beforehand if an asteroid base will even be offered by the system for you to buy before paying the 25mil cr?

I'm sure they'll fix it. I want this for my second colony anyway, not the primary one
according to that image you have no tier 2 points, only 5 tier 3 points. you need 3 tier 2 points for an asteroid base, as it shows there, so you'll need to build some T1 facilities etc to get the 3 T2 points.Yeah, I'd seen that. I've only built seven ****ing things so far! You'd think that might be enough.to be fair it is completely clear, it shows that the station consumes 3 of the 2 box icons, which is Tier 2 (and it shows the points at the top), and the Begin Construction button also has the same icon by it. neither icon match the same one that you have 5 of. finalizing the construction also shows you will get 1 Tier 3 point, of which the icon does not match Tier 2 either.Thanks
