In another thread someone said "6 game hours or so (1 game day for most ppl)"... I was kind of surprised by that so was wondering... how long do you intend to play Elite for each day, assuming it meets your expectations as a game?

Please consider your lives before answering - don't just answer >10 because you think the game will be THAT good... be realistic. :p

It depends how rewarding the game is. If its just mindless grind not many, if its got a good balance between risk and reward, all of them. If its one of those games where you 'can't lose' and hiding from the bad men is as easy as flipping a toggle, none. ;)

I doubt I'll be playing every single day, but probably something like 2-5 sessions of 1-2 hours a week. Six hours would probably be closer to my average time played per week.

That's assuming I'm not playing other games too.

Its interesting actually, because judging from the dev diaries and the original games 1-2 hrs here and there won't make much a dent in it. I love the idea of it taking months or years to get going, but then I am kinda worried that because of that time investment people will become risk averse like in other mmos.

Anyway serious answer for me 2-3 hrs a day I should think.

I Might be able to fit in four to five in the week days, but then the weekend has at least 48 hours to play with... :D

As much as possible but what with work getting in the way.... Weekends though will be a case of unplugging the phone and locking the front door, at least until the initial glow has worn off.

During the official launch and the 1st week I expect to play quite a lot - it's possible 9 hours or more - all depends on where I am at the time. However, under normal circumstances 3, possibly 2 hours a day - the full time job kind of gets in the way a little - I am just thankful that my wife also wishes to play too so that I don't get accused of ignoring her ;)

2 hours average, me thinks. I will probably be totally obsessed at first and then hopefully settle into a more manageable addiction!

At the moment I get between 30 mins to 2.5 hours per day on Oolite depending on whether I am doing something else that evening.

Weekends are a fight between my kids and me as to who gets computer time (the kids win :mad: )

So realistically I expect to be playing around 10 hours per week - which will make it my main leisure time activity! I don't even watch that much TV in a week.

initially a LOT, I even plan on taking a day or two off work for the release, something I have never done before, but then I never spend this much money on a game before... so for a one off to celebrate the revival of Elite I will dedicate a couple of days entirely to Elite I think
after that I will try to get 2-3 a day in, some days more some less, but who knows where my life will be in a years time....

in the begenning that will be something around 3 / 4 hours and then 1 or less... Depending too with the next extentions ...
