I did many all-night sessions with BBC Elite (and on through the next morning too occasionly - just one more flight, eh). When I found Oolite, I was doing 4-5 hrs/day most days (less now). If Elite: Dangerous 'grabs' me, I'll probably do similar.

I went for 1-2 hours per day. Will probably be more once I get into the game. + being single and in control of my own free time helps :D

Playtime

I am single and work seven days on then seven days off. On my days off I could see me doing a few all nighter's like 18 hours without a rest

Depends on the game, but usually I'll have maximum 2 hours available to play in a day, and it probably isn't the only game I'll be playing. So I guess 1-2 hours assuming it's great and I'm not flooded with good games at the time.

Can't really answer the poll as one of the things I like about Elite is that I can decide how much time I want to spend at any particular moment. I have no need to commit to X amount of time before the fact as I was doing during many years of hardcore MMO raiding. I can spend 30 minutes of time in game as easily as the entire day.

I choose 1-1.59

But in reality, my sessions will likely be much longer then so, but fewer as i wont be playing every day.

under 1 - zero, actually. No system upgrade, no E: D, sadly.

It's a shame, too. When I saw the fully finished Eagle Mark 2 I knew that the 300i hype could finally come to a full stop, because that faux-german piece of junk had finally met it's superior in terms of grace and agility.

Probably between one or two on an average day. Maybe more on my days off, especially during the winter when I can't go golfing, take bicycle trips, or other outdoorsy activities.

Honestly don't know how to answer the poll.

I imagine obsessively at first to the point of doing the day to day while my head is still in the game but over the long haul for me I think it'll be reliant on how meaningful relationships can arise between players within play.

In EVE I'd have been quite happy to drop in a couple of hours of play a week because the mechanics governing combat were enjoyable and varied but really it was the social aspects the people and the friendships forged that would make you come back night after night to the point of excluding other games entirely from your free time.

I played for ~2000 minutes in the past 4 days

Oh, I should add, that doesn't include the time not recorded due to CTD's

*giggles*

I should be walking into a room with some of the others here and saying "Hi, My name's Louise and I'm an Elitaholic"
