It just dawned on me that at least 50% of the galaxy's population, if not more, have been "snapped away" by Odyssey today. For example, when I briefly logged into Horizons, my friends list showed EVERYONE as "ED: Odyssey". Meanwhile I'm in "Galaxy Prime" (Horizons) for the foreseeable future, a "post-snap" galaxy until this Fall when everyone blips back together again.
I'm not complaining - I suspect my instances will be just as full when I go to CGs, and I'll still run into people randomly as I travel the Bubble. But I am curious as to just what impact the "snap" had on the galaxy. Are there any metrics out there that show how many people are playing Horizons vs Odyssey? It's kinda strange to think that half or more of the entire population of the galaxy has just disappeared from my reality today. That goes for everyone moving to Odyssey, as all us Horizons holdouts have been snapped from your galaxy. At least we can still speak to each other via thesoul stone system chat.
It's kinda too bad there isn't an in-game lore / Galnet story explaining the disappearance of half the population, along with lots of dust floating around stations.
