Because it wasn't a total wipe, they wiped everything except credits, and gave everyone the total credit value of the things they owned which got wiped.

If you had it before the 'wipe', and the price didn't go way up, you can rebuy it again immediately.

The wipe on Saturday for Gamma will be a total wipe.

Not only did they wipe out my credits, fully kitted viper and fully kitted cobra. They also found a way to wipe out my rudder pedals. That was a low blow you dastardly devs

I don't care about a wipe as its a beta crap happens, however w/ a wipe happening w/ launch of gamma why the wipe w/ 3.9? Just doesn't seem to add up unless the few new features and tweaks they added are an early game thing so wanted to test, idk, seems odd with another one happening this weekend.

I was fully wiped. Personally I think all these wipes are total and don't give me it starts everyone out at the same level. If someone buys a copy of the game a month after launch are we just going to wipe everyone's account so the new person doesn't start with a disadvantage? I have no desire to be part of the beta testing for Frontier if there is nothing in it but a frustrated feeling of starting over tomorrow and then again at launch (last post I read seemed that was the plan) in December.

If I had been able to keep my progress I'd probably be less upset and the complete drop in quality in 3.9 as compared to the previous build. I've had a slew of issues and it seems like I'm not the only one.

There are NPC players out there with the names "Commander ....." I have come across a couple in the past.
Unless the name explicitly starts with "CMDR" and their icon on the radar is a hollow square or triangle then it is a NPC.

Also had me confused the first time I came across one and thought.. "how rude, not answering my comms hail"

I was wiped out on the 3.9 release, and now i am finding it tough to get ahead, since pirates are interdicting me in every system, and they out match me.

i found escaping from interdiction very easy (at least with a track ir, with it you can look at the escape point and follow it expecially at the beginning when it go out fast). been interdicted just one time, couse i didnt know what it was

There are several ways to use various exploits in the game and do this. It isn't rocket science, the game is full of these loopholes.

You should've prolly intercept and get it's bounty you would've probably able to get it with a Siderwinder/Eagle. I got 25k bounty from one lol.
