How Rich is Your SLF Pilot?

My SLF pilot got so rich I killed him. Robbing git. Used to sit around doing eff all and picking up money for it.
So I paid some Thargoids to do him over.

So.
You get hired to do a job. Then your employer decides he doesn't need you so he sends you home. He says that he will pay you less. But won't fire you because he might need you later.

How would you like it? It's your job as an employer to employ people you hired. Or let them go.
Pay me 300Mcr to sit at home doing nothing for a year ? Yes Please !

She has earned 138 million cr since she came on board as a Harmless. She's earned at least 50 million flying an armchair in the crew lounge though. But I must say her short and snappy hairstyle proved predictive of the type of pilot she'd become. She makes short work of any NPC up to Elite despite having "just" a Dangerous rank herself.

Maybe if the added a limpet controller that could steal from them?

Would take up a slot but.... Upon deploying the limpet would follow your SLF into the bar and keep an eye on them till they were ratted. Then it would nick their card and pin and withdraw the maximum number of credits per day from the galactic ATM and tell your SLF crew that Lavian Brandy is more expensive than they remembered.

If you get back from your mission alive it would then credit your account with your ill gotten gains, all for 100 CR.

Thoughts anyone?

My SLF Pilot is so rich, the last time we launched a fighter, she told me, "I'm going out to play -- you stay here and babysit my 'Conda."

Mine is so rich, he sometimes posts here on the forum that pay rates need to be nerfed because too many new pilots are also getting rich.

I hired a lady pilot, for no other reason than she was the first one, and weirdly only one to date, who wasn't a complete pig, whose face may break my monitor if I pointed it towards my mirror! I don't even own a fighter bay, but on the off chance that I did ever own one, I would have a girl-next-door type lady to sit in it. She is minted now and has largely just sat in the bar at my home station, occasionally shooting green bounty hunters under the table, but only after they shoot first! :D

Mine is sitting on a nice 15m cushion. Not bad for the amount of hours she pulled in. I wouldn't trust her with the mother ship though. Not yet.

mine was making a 9 figure income, hired her at harmless and trained her up to elite... was gettin really attached to be honest...

then, a %$&#ing cop flew through my beam laser in a high res, and that was the begining of the end... made it to the station, but my corvette got stuck in the slot while trying to come in 'cool'... and yeah, that was that [knocked out]

And imagine ... if you miscalculate and end up losing your ship, you not only lose your elite pilot, you also lose the several hundred invested in her. Fun, eh?

My first SLF pilot was fired when I realised she'd pocketed Cr337m of my earnings for sitting on her butt. After that, I went through a couple of "rentals" but then I had the bright idea of hiring an SLF pilot and building a ship specifically for them to fly.The most ridiculous part, however, is that I'm very protective of her so whenever I'm doing anything especially perilous I leave her behind and hire another "rental" to fly the SLF instead.

I followed the exact same path. And now, ridiculously, when or whether I execute a riskier-than-normal action, I think twice, because I don't want to lose her after all this training. But neither can I quite make myself pay here AND a short-term scab pilot. ...and my damned RP ethic precludes me from hiring and then firing a scab before collecting my reward. ...or at least it makes me feel bad about it, afterward... :p

Holy crap -- second one I've seen in this thread that've earned over a 1B CR (the other had apparently earned more than 2B)! But to your point, I'm not sure that I've noticed mine being that much more effective at Elite than she was when Competent, right out of the chute. She probably is, but she was no slouch when I hired her, either. The most annoying thing is that I think she developed new sayings once she hit Elite. The most silly is that ANY TIME we're targeting a relatively high-ranked pilot (which she apparently thinks is anything above Master), she invariably says something along the lines of, "We've got to take the fight to this one if we're going to have a chance, Commander."

There's nothing like being in an A-rated, engineered Corvette, with an Elite SLF on the prowl with you, and engaging an Adder ...and being told that you won't have a chance if you don't take the fight to them. LOL

She apparently thinks I bought my Dangerous rating in a crackerjack box. Maybe she's seen a little too much of my flying!

I noticed she got a lot better at surviving on her own as her rank went up. When I attack a wing in a HazRES I attack the biggest ship myself (flying a Corvette) and assign her to the smaller escort ships. Nowadays she destroys small escorts (Viper or smaller) quickly enough to come and help me in the final minutes of the fight. Also at some point (becoming Master I think) she learned to run away to let shields regenerate and she looses a lot less fighters since. However, her nemesis remains a high-ranked Eagle with railguns.
