well i have nothing to worry about then as i did not follow the development of this game this my first ever Elite game and im happy with it

So you're happy with having no content but doing bounties against unchallenging AI, and endless traderuns that require no input from the actual player!?
Seems fun!

EVE is a niche' game...always has been, always will be. Same for this game. It will appeal to the kind of players that like this type of game. If you were ever expecting millions of people playing Elite...LMFAO - you're in for a huge disappointment. Only ardent space sim/sci-fi fans will play this and there is not a whole hell of a lot of us out here. Add to that that it requires some actual player skill...that turns a mess ton of MMO players off right from the get go. We're lucky that game has as many people playing it as it does. By the way, when EVE launched it had very little you could do. In fact it was comparable to what Elite has now. I know, I was there.

Yet again he cannot read and completely goes off the rails.
You're the very definition of a blinded fanboj.
If the game is so good, how come you're not playing it?

So, EVE is Niche, so its not dying? That flawless logic!

What makes Lotro not Niche?
What makes SWTOR not Niche?

whats fun for me may not be fun for you and as said your welcome to leave at any time

Im starting to think these fans of Elite that are forum warrioring, arent actually playing it.
They're just trying to make themselves feel better, because they're entitled to, as they spent money.
Like an illusion of having fun, on a forum.

Importantly the enjoyment that people get from EVE actually has very little to do with CCP, it can be argued that the players really keep that game enjoyable, but it wasn't always like that, players initially had very little overarching influence in that game and it took time to find it's place in the world.

As I've implied already making fatal judgements about a game of this scale, 12 days after release is just foolish, if people can't see the potential of this game then I don't know what to say. It might just be me, most of the games I play now are in constant development, so waiting months or years for those games to develop features just isn't a problem for me, like it obviously is for some other people.

hate to pop your balloon i have a desktop im playing the game and replying to ppl like you from my laptop ;)

Guild Wars 2.

Apart from being killed by hoards of opposing players that could not be seen.
But yes it was probably the last game before this that actually worked at launch.
.
As far as ED and the devs 'dream' game goes, they have their ideas and goals some of which will fall by the wayside as in all development projects.
The fact they set out to do this stuff leads me to believe that they will still be aiming for this type of evolving galaxy, tweaked maybe, reworked even but I am sure we will see this game grow.

As a opposed to those who don't like the game and fail to move on because they feel unable to move on to other more 'fulfilling' games?

EVE is a pay to play game. Only die hard fans actually pay to play.

Free games like the one I mentioned will always have people playing them...yes, Elite is free to play but it takes initial funds to get started. If Frontier drops the price to $19. a pop, you'd see more people play, until they realize it's not their cup of tea and quit.

Elite is not going to be the next WoW. It will maybe have,m eventually a good player base around 30k to 40k(if they are lucky), and that is about it. Well, unless they release the Chinese version then it might have a few hundred thousand on a Chinese server...but you're deluding yourself if you think your average MMO player will find this game appealing.

Must be fun to play the game, if you got time to keyboardwarrior.

A true Adrenaline rush in that Supercruise, must say!

Supercruise was a feature suggested by backers to replace microjumps within system. It certainly isn't perfect and probably needs a bit of work, but it gives the possibility for chasing, interdiction etc that may not have been possible with the previous intended system. In that regard FD aren't completely to blame if you don't like Supercruise

Khavi cant read and writes whatever he wants... why bother, and has yet to actually respond to my question.

They should increase supercruise speed slightly, 10min+ of afking just to get to a planet/station is not engaging what so ever.. Interdictions are stupid, they rarely even work and are just there as fillers.

I'll second this. I actually like supercruise and how it works. Yes it does need a little fine tweaking, but if that little tweaking is a downer for you - never play War Thunder...because it is a game that is constantly needing tweaked. LOL

the galaxy is eviolving, maybe nobody noticed but the edges of inhabeted space are widening, places that where far from inhabeted space are closer now , check out the edges of the galaxy an youl see its the truth

and yet she still manages to be easily twice as coherent as your inane rantings.

You're trying to have a reasonable conversation with a mad kid that is upset that other people are having fun doing something he personally doesn't enjoy and he can't figure out why or comprehend that different people enjoy different things. At this point I think we should just let him have his little temper tantrum and move on.

What are you talking about interdictions rarely work. I have zero issue pulling things out of supercruise - unless I was just not able to catch them to initiate it to begin with. And in that case that is my fault...not the games.

Wow, this all sounds very intriguing! When will this game be released?

Pretty much any game that has the possibility of aggressive interaction between players will be getting tweaked fairly often, it's an unavoidable side effect of those types of games, again, doesn't bother me at all because I play so many other games that follow a similar development cycle, like War Thunder and Mechwarrior Online. For other people, this type of development is a big problem for them.

I actually read the sentence "I will be playing ED for what it's going to be" in this thread.

All I can think as I read that line is "Wow, so that's what a sucker truly is."

We're beyond the Kickstarter days, this is 1.0, except the amount of content and gameplay variety makes it more of an alpha, if that.

A solid framework is exactly what you should have... in Alpha. Content is what makes games interesting. If you don't have the content, then you need systems to let the players create content. When you can't play with your friends unless you get lucky in open play, when there's almost no other players, when you can't trade with other players, when you can't land on planets, when there are a tiny amount of missions that become mission madlibs as you read the same description with the old system name scratched out and a new one written in... Then you don't really have a finished game.

There's nothing hardcore about this game, there's nothing challenging about it. It's braindead easy, the most exciting part of the game is when an interdiction pulls you out of the coma-like stupor of sitting in Supercruise for 15 minutes. "It's like Euro Truck Sim but in space!" Bullcrap, in Euro Truck Sim I have to stay on the goddamn road, in this game you point at your destination and walk away. I only have one qualification for something to be a video game: Interaction. I should never be walking away from my goddamn video game while it plays itself!

Trading is easy, NPCs are awful pilots so dogfighting is easy, mining is easy, exploring is probably the "hardest" part because you actually have to plot out your route and make sure you don't end up without fuel on a star you can't scoop from, but exploring is also the most boring because there's no point to exploring 400 billion systems when they're all the same and terribly instanced to where they're literally invisible if you try to get to them outside of your hyperdrive.

This game launching in this state might have actually killed it, because who is going to be recommending this to their friends 3 or 4 months from now? The only people that can continually play this for that long are the same people who can play ANY game for extreme periods of time without feeling the tedium. How are we supposed to get to those paid expansions if they don't sell enough copies? The future you're waiting for has a chance of not arriving if the game doesn't do well enough. Rushing a launch for a stupid anniversary is stupendously dumb when your game has almost nothing in it.

The game is big, but big doesn't mean anything.

Is more fun and engaging, and uses way more imagination, than this:

ED doesn't even have the basic toolsets necessary to allow you to use your imagination to make your own content, and that's a damn shame.

I want this game to be incredible, I love space sims, I love using my imagination, I love making my own story. But ED doesn't want me to do any of that. All the story bits are essentially a Twitter feed in stations and a bunch of numbers that don't seem to actually physically change anything in the universe. If I have to look at a graph to see what's going on instead of looking out of my cockpit, you done messed up.
