How to avoid Gankers.

With the gloryfied community Goal now ongoing i saw quite a few people trying to Gank.
So i thought ill list some things on wich you can easily identify a Ganker / Griefer and block them before they can even interdict you. Blocking them makes it ALMOST impossible for them to get in the same instance as you or even interdict you because they dont show up in your instance after interdicting you.

First sign of a Ganker / Griefer: An absoutely stupid name like: Achickenforallseasons, Alottarebuya, Randomtwelveyearoldwizzard, Saltedcottoncandy.
Second sign of a Griefer / Ganker: A Holo Me looking like a Zebra fell into 20 Buckets of different Colors. Preferably very old ones.
Third sign of a Griefer / Ganker: A Cutter, Corvette or Anaconda on a Community Goal that only supports small and Midsize ships. Beware of FDLs too.

If you see one of those Signs or even ALL of them and you dont wanna get ganked in your little Diamondback or ASP, block that Person. If they somehow manage to get in the same instance with you and pull you out (if you both share a Friend on the FL this CAN happen), Dobt forget to HIGH WAKE, not low wake since high wake dont suffer from Mass lock.

Btw: Dont mistake a Player-Pirate for a Griefer, a Pirate will never just kill you, he will interdict you, scan you for Cargo, steal your Cargo and then go. A Pirate only kills if you are Rude to him or dont oblige to his requests.

Have a good Day and good Luck on the new Community Goal.

Edit: Woah, calm down Friends, it was more of a "fun Thread" and i thought the Zebra with 20 different Colors made sure people would understand that.
Dontcha get so angry everyone.

If you are going to use an anti-harassment tool to avoid legitimate gameplay, you are no better than the folks using the hacks.

OK, fun is fun. I am finally getting out into the open... I have a fed corvette fitted with beam lasers(g5 overcharge) multi cannon(g5 long range), all my military internals are filled with hull modules, my utility slots are shield boosters and ecm. Along with that, I have 450 ton capacity for trade and a srv for exploration. I have come across several pilots who warp in and before I can say O7 cmndr, they warp right out as if the gates of hell was opened for them. Otherwise, my interactions with other players is non existent except around stations and a majority of them won't even respond to friendly hails. Some do and I appreciate their responses. The only times I see more than 5 in my instances is when they are docked and nonresponsive....... The NPC players who meet up with me even run away when I am rumbling with them. Gotta learn to disable their fsd so they stick around for the grand finale.
By the way... I rate competent(15%) so am not a real threat to anybody yet. hehehehe. Fly safe cmndrs.

How about this advice.

Fly in open

If you have an interaction with a CMDR that enhances the play experience for you, send them a friend request.

If you have a interaction with a CMDR that is a negative experience for you, add them to your blocked list.

It’s like it was made for everyone to tailor their game!

Are you trying to melt your ship with Overcharged Beams? Cuz that's how you do it :p

I tried open for the first time today, since the Interstellar Initiative thing was happening. Immediately ganked leaving The Prospect.

I'm probably going to stick to PG...
...if I can stand doing all my scans back home. Seems like wasted time honestly.

A very true statement. When i'm flying around in open I rarely see anyone except the odd CMDR who i throw an o7 at. Unless of course you go to a popular system.

I've mentioned it before, but last few times i've been to Shinrarta nobody tried to gank me either. Damn gankers are really slipping these days, you just don't get the quality of ganks you used to :D

I just accepted a position at my company that’s restored my weekends, not to mention “normal” working hours. It’ll be interesting to see how that affects my instancing.

Once I get back to the Bubble, of course. I’m currently about 50,000 light-years away at the moment, and moving in the wrong direction.

If you're getting out into open for the first time I would HIGHLY suggest that you use a small or medium ship instead of a Corvette until you get a better idea of what open is like and get a feel for where the player hotspots are.
I mean no offense but I guarantee your Vette has a very squishy build on it and Vettes are specifically targeted by gankers. I would use something like a Chieftain, Challenger, Federal Assault Ship. Federal Gunship, Fer-de-lance or Mamba until you get used to open.

Ooo! I'll be interested to hear about your experience.

No rush, obviously. Enjoy wherever you are.
