Horizons How to complete surface rescue missions when the issuing faction turns hostile?

looks like you managed to miss my point entirely again.
my penalty for shooting a ship without scanning should be 2 things:
a chance of hitting an innocent ship and getting a bounty myself.
and
if it's a pirate then I won't get to collect the bounty because I didn't scan it.

earning a bounty on top of that for shooting a pirate without scanning is way too much penalty already and kinda makes no sense. just not needed.

Well, sorry for that, got ya now.
I think FD's logic behind this is that you (your ship/computer) cannot know if it's wanted before scanning, so automatically registeres a crime.
Something like that.
But from what i read, they're going to look at the crime system again, so perhaps this will be altered.
I admit it sometimes, in the heat of battle, can be annoying.

attacked on pod mish

that sounds like a broken mechanic to me. it shouldn't matter if I use the turret or shoot from the cockpit. needs reporting as a bug!

i just got this mission for first time. occupied escape pod. had to go to nav point find position on planet after the scanner finally found right location i got there and a ship told me to hand over my cargo and i got shot down. did i get too close to base. going to try again. i tried to fight but took my trusters out. thinking maybe it was a player but i was hostile to the area. i keep forgetting not to get too close to area. especially when its a mission you dont expect it. still good fun.
