How to complete the Guardians Ruins mission, and find others to help get the final 7 codex.

So, it turns out that Elite NPC FDL pirates can be quite scary when you're carrying untold quantities of exploration & Guardian mission data, in a lightweight explora-python.
luckily I had taken with me 5 x engineered mine launchers with me.
It took a few shots to get a hit, but the relief when it suffered multiple systems failure was very real!
3 x Elite pirates had a go, but it wasn't too long before a dark shadow floated in fast & silently through the slot of Felice Dock.
What happened to the 'bonus?'
I thought there was meant to be an extra 100mil on top of the 111mil Guardian data?

Was nerfed down to 10M - some guides still around talk about the old 100M

Ah, that makes sense, cheers.
I guess it would have been worth 100mil and more, if you actually had to work it all out, but just following your maps...
more than happy with 10mil

Quite the source of debate when it happened, since the current system doesn't really encourage people to complete the mission in the same way it used to.

Would probably have been better to just halve all the payments so the bonus was still just as important. [sad]

Depends what you mean by 'still', 'puzzle' and 'brute force'

'still' - depends if you took part in the beta
'brute force' - patterns are recognised in the locations of combinations, but the combinations are known, so you don't have to brute force (though some have been recently, kudos to them)

"Still" as in, currently. As in, has it changed from being a brute force method of solving the puzzle.

Is there some kind of logic you can work out to solving the puzzle, or do you need to just check every possible combination of items and obelisks?

And yeah, sure, others have done the brute force thing, and you can just check their work and follow it, but... assuming you don't, then it is a brute force method of solving the problem.

Is that right, or is there some actual method to it, other than trying every possible combination?

That's my question, is that.. more clear?

In that case yes, there is a method, it's possible to work out where all the different scans will appear. Since you want to do it yourself then I'll let you do that

I wasn't able to get into the Beta (network issues) but from some screens I saw, the glyphs on the obelisks seem to have changed somewhat and made a lot more sense in terms of not having to brute force the combos. Quite why it wasn't that way in the beginning I will never know, so will just have to see if that carries through to the release (and if it is even still relevant).
