Powerplay How to contact and join the Powerplay Community for each Power

The best way to experience Powerplay and its associated activities is by joining the recognised community representing the Power of your choice. They will be able explain to you the happenings occurring in the galaxy's game of war, peace & politics as well as train you in the areas of Powerplay that interest you.

Most of the communities use Discord as their primary communications and socialising platform with Aisling Duval also offering a Slack alternative. It is thus recommended that you use Discord/Slack if you are able for best experience.

Yuri Grom does not have a community supporting him.

That's not true. The Federation is hard at work making poor Yuri Grom their puppet! It's been one of the most interesting civil wars in PP. Turmoil now. Weapons against the Empire later. It's ruthless and brilliant. At least this time they're not trying to do it from inside Torval.

Rare to see 5C described like joyful emergent content. Usually it goes with words like 'plague' or 'cancer'. That it is far more efficient to do damge to a power from within than without is perverse. Grom's ironic demise is the consequence of flawed design: Powerplay eating itself.

Can't stop it. Can only fight it and admire the tactical advantages it gives an enemy. Some people will stop at nothing to win and they don't care if it destroys everything around them. Doesn't mean I'm not impressed by it. Coordinating Fed expansions, undermining attacks against damned near everyone, 5th Cing within your opponents, and wrestling control of Grom from whatever meagre loyalists were left there is no small feat. It requires dedication and hundreds of man-hours to pull off every week. It's not our first rodeo fighting these guys either. They pulled something similar two years ago and we thumped them hard once we wrapped our heads around how they were operating. I'd imagine they're seeing this all as just desserts.

It's sort of the thing where you're standing on a beach and you see the tide going out and out and out and on the horizon there's a wave forming and all you can do is whistle in awe of its magnitude. It'll kill ya and wreck your town, but it's still quite a sight to see.

If Grom is no longer in ZYADA since he is out of control, is it ZADA now?

Well if it's gonna be a flame thread then it's gonna stay up even not being pinned, so no problem with me. :)

About 5C I keep saying this again and again and we all know what we need to solve that:

  • new game mechanics (I've done plenty of threads proposing new rules, new personal reward system, etc)
  • open only powerplay

but every time we try to do something "organised" as a community suddenly we've got the different leaderships trying to defend the status quo unless they are directly harmed by 5C (and for directly harmed I mean: basically unable to keep playing the game, as happened to Kumo first, then Winters, last but not least Grom).

Carebears make some noise and get cheap carriers and we have not been able to get some decent rules even if powerplay has been borked since day 1. But as Quade said...

Some people will stop at nothing to win and they don't care if it destroys everything around them.

The leaderships have passed on a lot of community feedback and proposals for changes to Powerplay's game mechanics. FDev evaluates feedback and ideas from many sources such as this forum which has a specific section for suggested changes to the game.

I love how even a post with contact information for the PP factions can turn into a 5c finger pointing thread, have you polluted the beta discussion with this garbage? I'd hate for you to miss out on an opportunity to continue with this drivel.

I am part of that leadership myself but we have never ever been able to elaborate a common request to FDev. So prove me wrong, let's try to ask some simple things:

  • better personal rewards (maybe CG style)
  • no more Powerplay modules
  • new general rules (no overheads and higher upkeeps, systems turmoiling singularly, etc)
  • open only Powerplay

Too bad I think we are not going to make all the leaderships agree, especially to the open only point.

Various proposals from the community for all the above have been passed on. Open Only Powerplay was also part of a Focused Feedback topic on this forum which was then rolled back on somewhat in a second Focused Feedback topic due to feedback from this forum. If you wish to discuss this further at a leadership level DM me on Discord or PM me on this forum.

Cheap carriers which will make any sort of hauling-based PP activity (5C or otherwise) basically impossible to stop even in Open.

That depends, and also depends on mode (and the future intentions of FD re PP- i.e. Open only).

Open only it would actually make little difference (and actually sort out FC related mode problems) since fortifying goes to one place anyway- an FC would go to capital and the ships would have to undock and fly to the station. At best it would shorten SC travel time, but in a mega UM situation an FC would be drained of fuel going backwards and forwards and since you can't sit an FC in a stations instance, and you also have the time to load an FC v undermining which is more free-form. Attackers would know where ships would go and come from.

The biggest problems with FCs and PP come from pan modal messaging, PG and that FCs are persistent (i.e. you can have multiple solo commanders dock). I won't detail how they make something so bad but its FD yet again not thinking things through enough.

Yes - though with someone already docked in the station (who can fly there in Solo, since they're not "doing PP"), the use of wing nav lock could almost eliminate supercruise travel time with a lucky placement. Might be necessary for Powers to ensure that every slot around their HQ's stations was already full of carrier, which would be easier for some than others.

FC can be refuelled with Tritium by haulers in Solo, since that's not a direct Powerplay activity either, and for short-range 5C Forts, the fuel use will be minimal. For honest PP work to more distant control systems, sure, it'll need a bit more fuel.

I didnt know there were pp communities. I thought everyone stopped pp after they got the modules they wanted...
You'd think that from content churners and reddit, yeah. PP doesnt do anything for your credit balance so it's rubbish. If credits arent so important anymore, welcome to Powerplay. (Ofc I know plenty of billionaires who got there much quicker because of help from my PP faction. But heyho.)

FCs will pose a much bigger problem for smaller powers on Thursday mornings certainly- so expect surges of prep. It also depends on how many 5C players there are.

The wing beacon is an interesting example- although it does not eliminate attackers camping outside an FC and LR lasering transports, and doing the same when they pop into the station instance. If they are running the classic Cutter undersized shield or a tin box T-9 there is a limited window there as well.

And I doubt powers have that many players to fill up all the slots! It would be ironic having Feds and Imps loitering around each others capitals.

Regards fuel, I mean in a mega UM situation- that is, with Sandros proposed uncapped fortifying mechanic. In system bubble travel would be minimal use (doubly less now), but it could be jumping every twenty minutes non stop in extreme situations where fighting is bitter. But then again you can buy fuel, so that is not a limiting issue sadly.

That quad bounty payout bug was excellent. Sadly I threw my money away on booze, women and nice wooden furniture.
