How to find scenarios?

According to the patch notes, "Scenarios come in the form of USSs, Megaship, Installations and Conflict Zones".

A few questions about how to find them (I didn't run into one yet):

1. Megaship and Installation Scenarios: do they also appear as a signal you can discover with the FSS, or do you have to fly there and hope, that a scenario spawns?
a) are there specific Installations/Megaships where scenarios can spawn, or is any fine?
b) what are good system states to find scenarios?

2. What FSS frequency would a scenario have? Concentrated or transient signal source?
a) In what kind of system states USS scenarios spawn?

3. Any other tips how to find scenarios?

edit: found an answer to 2. (not 2a): https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/a9gj3b/frequency_array_diagram_updated_v12_elite_33_live/

They seem to be everywhere now. Just jump into any populated systems, most have at least a couple of installations and mega-ships. Drop into one of them, at some point things will kick off.

My only gripe is it seems to happen too often, hard to enjoy the amazing assets when waves of fighters are attacking

Maybe it should be less frequent, to compensate they could add some system chatter about upcoming attacks.

Out of curiosity I dropped at an installation which was orbiting a gas giant - it was orbiting / moving so fast that within a few seconds of dropping into the vicinity it was over 100km away....lol

Not sure how you are supposed to interact with anything going that fast.

Not sure if that is normal or I just picked a bugged / poor example.

1. As far as I can tell installations / megaships just appear in your system list post-scan, but don't broadcast any signal that they're in danger. (It could be that the conflict overview that appears as a top-right panel is connected to you locking onto them as a target, but I haven't experimented heavily, and if so it doesn't seem to be consistent).

You do seem to get a new 'entering conflict zone' in Supercruise on approach if they're involved in a war though, with other combat zones nearby, which is neat :)

1b. If you click into any faction that's at war in the status tab you seem to get a key defend/attack target for each involved faction. Again the results seem a bit variable though. In this case the hospital was indeed periodically under attack (although it was under attack by its own faction, who then rewarded you for defeating themselves :/). But you'll also get stations and outposts listed, which never seem to spawn scenarios (which is a shame :/). I haven't tried a land base yet so not sure if they kick in, but I suspect not.

b) I've found the above via war & civil war states, but I imagine lockdown might be good to find piracy attacks on megaships / installations etc.

I used the FSS to find some type of orbiting installation, then flew there and within a few minutes the attack/scenario unfolded. I successfully defended the installation and racked up some credits, and thought I'd fly around the structure because it was huge and I could fly my corvette through parts of it. While doing so, another wave of pirates showed up, and the scenario started over again. That kind of ruined it for me, so I left.
What FD has basically done is create a CZ, you just pick a side and keep on fighting wave after wave. The only difference is, there is a ship/installation/whatever in the middle of it, and the side you pick is pirates or not, and the waves are limited (in my case I believe it was 3). And restart......
I hate to say it, but it's the CZ mechanic in a slightly different wrapper, and once you've done one, you've done them all......

I’ve only stumbled into one of these, which turned out to be a shot to sht Type-9 someone wanted me to scan, so I did, and they gave me credits. I like credits. Nothing says “thanks” quite like cash (or Credits).
