How to fix the game for JWE2.

Hey folks, was just thinking about this debate of how successful a release of a sequel could be, even on multi-platform..... I'm no gaming expert but wasn't like one of the greatest critically acclaimed games of all time initially released on console, then re-released with significant improvements on console AND PC? That being GTA5.... so, at the very least it shows what IS possible - a truly great game that players on all formats can enjoy? Maybe I'm being overoptimistic, but if planet coaster and the very promising looking planet zoo are setting the standard that Frontier CAN achieve - all they need is better tech to allow this to be experienced to the max on consoles.... which they'll get very soon.

I'd agree that if they don't do the sequel for next gen (unlikely) then it should be a PC exclusive if we are to see the vast gameplay improvements the commmunity wish for - I'd question whether it's possible for the current gen consoles to be capable of allowing Frontier to do on them what they can currently achieve on PC.

Alan Grady, i understand your point of view, but that's selfish. Apparently you've never played AC Origins and AC Odyssey on PS4. Consoles can handle giant maps and rich details in a very quiet way. If your PS4 and Xbox support these games, then next-generation consoles can cope seamlessly with great content. Not everyone has a condition to buy a superpotent pc. Saying that only PC's can support JWE2 seems to me something very selfish and meaningless. It would be stupid for Frontier to make JWE2 only for PC, the profit would be much lower, compensates they do JWE2 for the upcoming consoles than just for PC. PS5 and the new Xbox will be able to handle JWE2 easily. If your PS4 and Xbox One can handle giant games and wealth of detail, because the new consoles would not deal???? I don't want to offend you but just expose that making JWE2 only for PC doesn't make sense :(

That's not the same. Games like AC and RDR 2 don't render everything at one. JWE does and so does Planet Coaster.

Yes this is a great limitation but they will never make it pc only due to Universal decision, the best way it would be to have a pc version and a console version this is the only way but again i think it will nor happen cause Universal

I think that was a financial decision by Frontier. While I wish the game had been a PC exclusive we probably wouldn't have the game at all without the console ports.

It won't happen cause it's not economically viable to make two different games. It's also not economically viable to make it PC exclusive.

In my opinion, the very first thing to fix the game for JWE2 is stop make it as multi-platform and focus in exclusive PC cz console had limits that PC don't have (Im not just talking about graphics).
Second, Fix and improve AI behavior before anything else cz yes, i rather play with 10 dinos with proper AI than 100 dinos but all looks like animatronics.
I completely agree. Here's my reasoning posted in a different thread. I think it cant be explained enough:

I know it would cost me quite some to have a proper gaming PC, but here's why I sincerely hope JWE2 (if its going to exist) is PC only:

Gaming consoles will ALWAYS stay behind in both 1 graphic and 2 gaming complexity opportunities compared to PC.
How this works: gaming consoles are as good as their hardware at the point of design and production. 1.) At the start of production consoles are good at what they do (though already behind to the pc hardware at the top of the market at that point in time). From that point onwards, their comparative capabilities decline as a function of continuous hardware development. The flexibility for pc gamers to install new parts along the way keeps them having better graphics.
2.) Consoles are designed to be sleek and easy to store. Hardcore gaming pc rigs are made to have enough space for advanced coolingsystems, better processors (with a focus on forward compatibility) and the like.
3.) Consoles still are lacking in player control in their basic production, wherefore games have to be less complex.

Keep in mind Im an xbox enthousiast. Though saving up for a proper pc gaming rig. Why? Watch this:

Its showing one of the new gaming engines with photoreallistic rendering. There's two of these now currently. The next consoles might (or might not, thats currently not known) be able to render these graphics, but think about how much complexity it must be able to handle too if you want a more complex in depth game.

Long story short, there will be more complex games that consoles might only be able to handle in their next generation. By that time there will be newer and more complex games. The opportunities for a potential JWE2 will always be bigger if it would be pc only. Its a good choice to keep planet zoo for pc only.

Im writing this not to offend us consoleplayers nor too make others feel bad. I'm writing this to advice 1. Frontier: please focus on pc only! And 2. Consoleplayers: save up for gaming rigs if you want that dreamgame.

I doubt this will ever happen with this IP. Jurassic Park is far too popular a franchise to limit a major video game release to PCs only.

I agree. And it would also be selfish to benefit only PC gamers with the excuse that consoles do not support the game. The consoles have much potential to support games like JWE2. Simulation games are not common on consoles but can be supported yes even more with the PS5 and the new Xbox coming
