How to get to 144hz?

Seems like my settings are capped at 50hz and 59hz. No option for 144hz.
Another question is why do all edges look ragged and not as smooth as some of the screenshots out there?

If your screen will accept 144Hz, is that some slimy marketing speak for 3d at 72Hz? Your card also needs to be capable of output at that rate.

Screen jaggies are due to antialiasing or low resolution - have a look at what your settings are.

I have 2x HD7970 ghz edition cards and even one runs easily runs the monitor at 144hz.
The monitor is ASUS VG248QE which runs at 144hz.

the problem is my best option is 59. something hz and I am not getting an option to go higher.

Everything else is at MAX settings.

Those screenshots you are seeing are probably from people with Nvidia Cards. The drivers for the new(ish) cards let you play the game at a simulated 4k resolution even on 1920 x 1080 monitors....hence the nice and clear screenshots.

If you are playing with excellent hardware on a 4k monitor (and 4k settings in game 3850x) with a display port cable from the card to the monitor your only going to get 60FPS max. It's a limit on the display port technology I understand.

Drop to a lower resolution and then you can up your FPS?

No I am not. I am playing on a regular 1920x1080 monitor through a display port. However display port does support 144hz as I play all the games at 144 on max settings. ie battlefield, farcry etc.

I have Asus PG278Q and GTX Titan and I have no problems setting 144Hz in ED.

It's as though the game thinks I am using a TV or something. those are the HZ for Europe and US that I get. Any idea?

or what HDMI Cable would show.

I was under the impression that 144Hz would only work over display port, so I don't think an HDMI lead is the way forward. I reckon it'll most likely be a drivers issue, AMD/ATI tend to be a little behind the curve on drivers which they make up for with bang for buck. Might be teaching you to suck eggs here but have you updated the display drivers ?

Correct. HDMI will only support 60hz. You either have to go dual channel DVI (DVI-D) or Display port to get the higher refresh rate.

So this is solved. (^ I was using display port)
Apparently my setting show 2 of each resolution. And I was on the one 1920x1080 of the one which only allowed 59hz.

GTX690 AOC 144htz monitor ,no problems here.

You simply choose 3840x2160 as a resolution :). This doesn't actually give you 4k, but does a very nice job of averaging out the pixels. It's basically a type of anti-aliasing, so you don't need more. You need the drivers to support it. Nvidia put them out for the 970 and 980 first, and then I think gave access to other cards.

I have a 970, and tried playing with the GeForce Experience removed... bad idea!

I've got a BenQ 2420Z and a GTX970 and I get my 144hz fine on 1920x1080 in the options. Mind you I'm using DVI-D as my input.
