How to improve the forum content - seriously

To Op : I have repped you for your post, but I dont agree.
Censorship in any form is paving the way to hell, if you want democratic interaction.
I live in Sweden, a country where I could potentially loose my job if I expressed my opinion in a public forum. I f you are not "mainstream " in this country you are in trouble...
In Denmark on the other hand , you can express what you feel like, but it carries a legal responsibility.
However, it is not the way the message is expressed, it is the content it carries, that is important.
We are not all fluent English speakers, and many of us posters lack the gramatical skills to get our meaning across, in the way it is intended.
Have some hearth and patience, and if you dont like what you read, dont read it.
Most here say what they say, because they care for the game, which is important. very important.

" Every bird sings with it's voice"

Cheers Cmdr's

i think we should simply prevent anyone from posting that hasn't gone through a 1 year no-posting probation period! In all seriousness, the forum was just fine a year ago. It's all the "new blood" that's got us mired and downtrodden. As predicted. Happens to every game once it goes beyond the enthusiastic backers and becomes available on a large scale. Can't be avoided, unfortunately. Judging by spelling, grammar and word-choice, I'd say we now have a lot of kids (and very young adults) playing the game. It's no longer just/primarily the 84ers.

That's good for Frontier (more money), but not so good for the quality of forum conversation. With every major new release of the game we'll see an influx of new players and spikes in negativity, which will eventually subside as those not happy - and who really enjoy complaining more than playing the game - will move onto the next thing. This happens with virtually all games; all major new releases of content. Elite is unfortunately not immune. Sigh. I have fond memories of this place a year ago.

Thanks bros.
I don't wanna arbitrate nuthin', prolly should be the moderators that do that. Suck it up if you don't agree dude.

1) If your post requires you to write any of these words then you are doing it wrong and are unlikely to be adding anything to the discussion - facepalm!
Whinge, cry, waaaaah, negative, facepalm, doing it wrong, not an issue, wrong game for you, suck it up.

2) If your troll post includes any of the following words, then you are likely flaming and ought to be banned.
Carebear, fanboy, white knight, greifer, troll, hater.

3) If your post includes any of the following words you risk not being taken seriously - or prolly not even read bro.
Bro, dude, prolly, arrrr, netcode, just sayin', aaaaaand.

4) If your post is about any of these topics then you are flogging a dead horse.
Combat logging, micro-transactions, mode hopping, player guilds, crafting, instancing, dead horses, name change.

If everybody avoided these 4 pitfalls, we could regain a helpful and informative discussion forum.
And free up a chunk of server space. Arrrr!

Started to read your post but I realised you were doing it wrong - we shouldn't be pandering to the carebear forum users bro, so may I suggest you change your forum user name via the micro-shop (check the admins for the sortcode and acconut number to transfer funds to) to avoid any future fall out with the other forum users .. just saying. :D  ;) :D

Whinge... I learn a new word every day. I've seen it before but considered it a mistype or just misspelling. Turns out it's phonetically "whinj" like "hinge". Very interesting. Oh and I agree with OP.

However it will be nice when the forum returns to talk about ships and outfitting and interludes and powers and such, instead of bugs, glitches, cheats, griefers, campers, proners, hoppers, clippers, Lakers... you know... all the "ers".

Irony

You have failed to heed your own advice.
Pretty sure it was intentionally ironic. Else why mention dead horses right after saying "flogging a dead horse"?

So much rep coming your way. I fully agree, there are nuggets of pure gold in this forum such as the shipyard tools, the permit/community goals threads etc but they are so weighed down by the mass of useless posts.

Can we add number 5) Are the servers up?
Don't get me wrong, 1 server thread is useful but when there are update notes published and 5 other threads asking the same thing I loose faith in the search function :p
Pure gold is correct, but Palladium trades better so not sure how Gold ever gets moved.

Some people on this forum take everything seriously and have "sense of humour failure" at times.

Ooo ... another phrase he can add to the list (along with anything I post about).
