My franchise has an active challenge, to increase my ostrich education rating to 10%. My ostriches are fully researched and there are several signs and educational soakers around their habitat yet my rating seems... nonexistent? At one point the challenge tab said I was at 3%, now it's down to 1% and I haven't changed anything with them for a while. How does one further increase a species' education rating?

All my animals are fully research until hitting "Advanced Research" and I have displays around at all viewing areas, as well as speakers. My guest education is 1 star.
I dont think they put off a area effect. I do place one on each side of any viewing area. And, a speaker for each one.
Well I put soakers, signs, info shops and everything else. My education rating hasn't gone over 3 stars. I'm honestly more curious about how I'm supposed to increase the education rating of a single species, as the challenge is requesting. My ostriches are already fully researched, and if I add anymore signs and whatnot to their exhibit, you won't even see them.
That said, since originally posting, they've gone up to 3% and now 5%. I'm literally doing nothing with them. So I have no clue what affects their rating or how to intentionally get it to 10% whatever that actually means.

Im just as confused as you are, in how it "works". But, maybe have a vet continue research for that animal, even if its gold already.
I also have more than one research bld. With 2 or more vets researching at once. Maybe that done it?
I also have two vets researching at all times but I'll give the advanced research about try. I guess technically that's not complete. Maybe that's the ticket. Ostriches are back down to 4% now 
Agreed. From what I can even gather, other than education, it helps with breeding as well. But, its conjecture.
Maybe it means the percentage of all customers in your Zoo which actually read or heard something about the ostriches? So when only 5% of all your visitors walked by the Ostrich enclosure the education Rating is then 5% for that specific animal? Just guessing
That's exactly what I'm seeing. Even with full research, a car doing advanced research full time, several signs and speakers, and there is still no consistency with the species education rating percentage. I've yet to see it go over 5%. I actually gave up and cancelled that challenge with my ostriches thinking it was just them or something. Now I have the exact same challenge for one of my small exhibit species... I can't get it over 2%. I'm at a total loss with understanding how this works :/
