How to increase Viper Jump range

I've fully kitted a Viper out, yes its quite heavy, 122 tons to be exact. It has a jump range of about 12.5LY which isn't bad but i'd like to round it off to 15. It that possible? Is there is a FSD better for this ship than the A3 I'm currently using?

I put in a search for a system which was about 100LY away, but it wouldn't create a route for me, one other thing is at a certain distance, the map stops showing me the lines between stars, is that because I can't travel that far out, or does the map simply stop joining the dots at a certain distance?

Thanks

To compute routes to far system needs a lot of time (and maybe there is a distance limit, I'm not sure) so it doesn't mean you can't get there.
I also have a Viper with more or less the same jump range and I didn't found a route I couldn't make yet.

Routing go by max 100ly or how far Your fuel tank can go, economical Routing usaly go much father than Direct Routing. And as previous said viper dont have much jump range. if you whant max range have all modules D rated and fsd A3. as D modules is the best whit as low mass as possible. Less mass = longer range.

Reduce your weight. My Viper is also "fully upgraded" with some D modules for lower weight. 15.2LY jumprange ;)

Ah you use lightweight alloys. I did go for military grade, its a life saver for fighting those elite anacondas. we have the same weapons layouts, although I went for the fixed multicannons.

I also have a wake scanner, but i dont know how useful it really is. NPCs are rarely worth chasing, and when hunting players, they can just go to supercruise, then jump, forcing you to zone in to the scan, then jump out again, by which point they might have a 2 jump head start.

It can take a few minutes for the galaxy map to plot longer routes due to it calculating every potential route within a sphere that has a radius of 100 LY. If you watch it then you will see the potential routes getting gradually longer as the spider web increases in size.

Ah yes I see it doing that. One star which wasn't routable became routable as the web expanded. Thats good but also kinda annoying. They should allow you to prioritize calculations based on where you are heading.

Yeah, the current system is definitely in need of improvement. It would be better if you could select a destination system maybe as far as 200 LY away and then click a button to have it plot a route. Generating a 3D pill in a specific direction would be much more efficient than generating a massive sphere in all directions.

My fully upgraded Viper has a jump range of 13.something ly. I feel it is more than enough for what a Viper's role is. I can get everywhere and get there cheap and it is a beast of a combat unit. I have not yet upgraded my Hull. Hardly anybody gets through my shields anyway.

Anyway, I made it to Lave, I didn't see anyone on the way in though. What is nice is there are 2 anarchy systems next door, both with ringed planets :p gonna give it a try.

The only way you're going to do it is with downgrades/upgrades.

Downgrading select non-vital parts may increase your jump range.

Remember switching out parts has no cost, so essentially you could downgrade, get to where you want to go then switch back in your old parts at no cost.
