Newcomer / Intro How to lock on powerplant without selecting from the menu

I have assigned the facility to a button on my joystick. The only thing is you have to flick through the things you can target to get to the powerplant so it can take a few button presses to get to it. I don't think you can assign anything to jump directly to the powerplant. I might be wrong though.

You can bind a key to select next/previous subsystems and just step through them. Look in your control options.

Target next and previous sub systems can be maped to keys in the options.

Maped mine to the mouse wheel which is also on my hotas.

A little tip... If you don't have buttons to spare, just map the previous... Less button presses to the powerplant ;-)

Assign it to wheelmouse (if you have a mouse) takes less than 1 sec to scroll back 4-5-6 clicks & bam theres the powerplant.

I saw a video where the guy had programmed a macro to press the cycle subsytem key several times in succession. He found that doing so would often land on the powerplant or at least be close to it. Until we get the official API that's probably your best workaround.

I also tried this and it indeed doesn't work.

Usually when scrolling threw previous sub systems you scroll past systems that every ship has.
Problem is there is/are subsystem(s) that are optional that might get added between that.

Witch means that usually it takes 5 clicks but some times 6.

Does anyone know how to enable to little mouse wheel on the X52 pro? The one near your finger tips to do this

I got a X52 Pro and it works great for me do you have the 52 setup as your controller method under options in Elite? If you do just go to the sub system selection option select it and then turn the wheel the desired direction, Elite will recognize all the X52 Pro's buttons, Hats and Scroll Wheels.

PS Go into your devices and printers and select the properties of the X52 Pro and make sure Clutch Brake is disabled cannot remember which tab its under but look at them all you will find it in the bottom right hand corner of the window.

Oh I can do all that and the stick works great. Thing is, when I move the wheel, nothing happens when a ship is targeted?
