How to make griefing more fun

Sorry for the late reply. No thread bump intende, I've simply been away for a week.

Powerplay undermining systems often incurs serious bounties...I have 130,000 on me just from undermining Acheon's Boys to get pack hound.
As someone who hasn't touched Powerplay yet, I have to ask - does this involve PvP fights? As I'd apply the penalty point system only to PvP kills, not PvE.

If Powerplay game elements require PvP attacks, then maybe there is a way of exempting such action from the penalty system. Maybe by giving players a "letter of marque" (I'm thinking of "Pirates" here) that allows them to attack others under certain circumstances.

Losing Engineered modules is still very punishing to players, considering the time input and chance involved.
And yes, losing engineered modules is very punishing. But so is getting shot down, or rammed to death. Especially when you are early in your career, and having to pay for insurance will set you back quite a bit.

So it should be an ultimate penalty, aimed only at those who do little else than making other players miserable, but not at those who pursue a "regular" criminal career.

I love the idea of a Galnet approved wide bounty and location on these criminals, but with as stated above I wouldn't be particularly fond of having the entire game universe hunt me down and loose my Engineer upgrades...they could have all my money...just not those
It would depend on how you got the bounty on you. As mentioned above, I would exclude all (measurable) legitimate PvP kills from the penalty point system (but not the bounty system).

So if you managed to get a huge bounty on you, but without having earned too many penalty points, every bounty hunter in the galaxy would still be after you. But if one eventually gets you, the rebuy punishment you'd receive would be based on your penalty points, not your bounty.

with this many disconects and crashes in the game, impossible.
That is a problem, I agree. OTOH, the whole system would not make sense if combat logging remains an easy option to avoid losing combats. It takes the fun out of piracy, but especially out of PvP bounty hunting.

So FDev would indeed need to do their homework and make sure the servers are stable. And players need to make sure they have a sufficiently stable internet connection, if they want to engage in PvP action.

But griefing is already extremely fun, lol.

Why fix what ain't broke? Griefing is perfect the way it is. Fixing combat logging would go a long way towards making griefing a fully viable playstyle, though. We don't want to see our targets banned, just exploded.
