How to make money in an Asp explorer?

Hello I have been playing for a couple of months now and keep seeing people posting that they are making 3 or more million an hour...

Within the 3 days of play time I have 15 million in assets. It seems that I suck at making money...

I recently found powerplay where I make 5 million with 3 hours of work a week, however, I would like to make more money between.

What are some of the best ways you have found to make money in an Asp explorer?

Please be descriptive enough for me to follow. For instance avoid phrases like, "I make 5 million an hour doing bounty hunting." Instead let me know where you are looking for these bounties and if you have found a more profitable system.

Any help is greatly appeared!

Thanks,
Cmdr Supernalzulu

Hello Cmdr, I've been playing about the same time as you and have asked exactly the same questions as yourself to myself and to the forum members. Don't worry too much about it, if one thing I have understood, the multimillions an hour is reserved for highly ranked Cmdrs who have the choice of mission's available. for example. I hear Robigo is very good for long range smuggling missions, an Asp is perfect for this. I was there yesterday for the first time and saw not less than 20 bb missions with payment of +1m for 1-2t of cargo. fill up your cargo hold, complete all, it is possible to earn +40Mil per hour. do some research on this forum for Robigo. I'm sure you'll find all the necessary info.
JUST, don't make the same mistake I made yesterday. I won't all the way there which took about 45mins then realised I could only get one mission because I haven't yet been much in Empire space and I'm still not ranked friendly with them, so all missions but one were unobtainable. I suggest you try it, but read about smuggling tips first. hope this helps.

Just to add though, I think the money side of things is frustrating, but you should concentrate on having fun. After my one 1m Robigo run (which I found tedious) I changed my Cobra for a Vulture and returned to the res sites I had been doing of late. And I had the most fun since starting the game. I was laughing and smiling to myself with the sheer excitement and power of the new ship, as I was shredding up Drop ships in seconds.

They're exactly right OP when they tell you to not concentrate on making money and not to make the game a grind.
I have a Python, FDL, Type 9, all A specced, still have most fun in my Cobra.
There's a type of indoctrination you get from playing games over the years, it doesn't apply here so much. It's more a case of picking the role you want to play and then go and try to be successful at that, the credits will come.
It's true that the Robigo, Maia type missions can make you money very quickly but even if you manage to stack a few up it can take a while to find them and end up being very frustrating when you get scanned once and fail them all.
You're on to a good thing with your Asp, very versatile, good for mining, trading and obviously exploring.
If you're still worried about consistently making credits as quickly as possible try trading legal goods, it's quite easy to find a route where an Asp can turn over 400,000 Cr every few min.
Good luck.

All the above, just have fun, don't get fixated on the creds grind.

One fyi though- if you do take on a big stack of no scan missions and fail them all, you will still make money selling the cargo :)

And don't forget to pitch in with the community goals where possible - will get you free credits for taking part basically. In an Asp, your covered for pretty much all the CGs.

Yep CG's dude, get that Asp up to Okinura and sign on for the Polymers to Fisher Terminal CG, needs all the help it can get.

I've been obsessed by Credits from day one trying to get a Conda.

I've got one several months ago but then lost interest as I'd got to my own personal End game. I ruined the game for myself.

I just couldn't enjoy the trade route I had just grinding the money I needed to A rate my ship - and I found I was only playing Elite for an hour or 2 a week.

I've now decided to not worry about money and go do some things I enjoy doing like smuggling. Perversely I was doing the Robigo run last night...but not for the money - for the rush of trying to get to the destinations without being scanned. I wasn't stacking loads of missions as I'm not being greedy - just having a blast in my ASP!

I'm now looking forward to playing this game again.

So just go play the game - try new things and enjoy yourself. The credits will come - just don't make them the reason for playing

All the above. Enjoy your ASP. It is good to excellent at nearly every job. Just want to add it is a very good mining ship too. If you want to change the pace at a very good payout then go mining in a pristine metallic ring and sell it to high tech systems. Every ton you mine is pure profit.

Enjoy this great game. Dont let the grind destroy your fun.

I would take the other guys advice and just chill out. I have been playing for a couple of hours a week or so and have 13 mil in credits and 22 mil in assets, I have spent what money I have on my ships instead of hording the money. just try the different roles and have fun its just a game after all.

This all is some great advice but ......if you need money.....here's my advice....and listen carefully.... lol.... i will only say this once.....her is my ASP http://coriolis.io/outfit/asp/05A5A5A4D4A5D5C----------05374002f301f2.Iw18WQ==.Aw18WQ take to Robigo and do smuggling runs missions.....in the beginning don't be greedy.....just take one or two.....when you become comfortable you can take more...like 4-5..... that's what i've been doing and trust me.....money is no problem now Screenshot-Original.png

Here another ex money grinder. I grinded my way to a python, then i realized i did it all wrong. I started to play the back ground sim, and i never had so much fun in this game.

Besides, a good smuggling Asp, (money maker) will cost you about 22 mill.

Now, if i mess up in the game, (get destroyed) ill do a smuggling run or 2 in Robigo. To get my money back, after that, im going back playing the game. I never grind anymore, i just do what ever i want to do. and sometimes i make no money at all, or even, i loose money.

Honestly, I did the robigo thing for a while and realized I was burning myself out by just focusing on money. In the end it's just better to do what you enjoy and have fun along the way, the money will come along on its own.

+1 CMDR for thread, this is where the helpful vets are willing to assist. Asp pilots seem to have a certain nurturing quality towards new pilots...

I've been on console for one month now, so I'm very new. But I have 37 mil in assets and rock a fully-loaded Asp X and Vulture. Here's my advice - teamwork! I joined the Lidpar Academy, and the Xbox proctors are simply amazing. Through their members, I use my Asp and wing up with a cutter and an annie and run the Orang>Karid imperial slave route. With my cargo-kitted Asp and their trade dividends, I end up making approx. 550k just from selling the slaves (+30k on the return route). The route itself can be made in less than 20 minutes, less if you've got a good wing (we average 10 minutes per run). So, even from from a conservative estimate, you can get 5 route runs per hour. Here's the breakdown:

5 runs per hour X 580,000 per run = 2.9 million creds per hour.

To summarize.....teamwork, those trade dividends add up quickly!

Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to do some snuggling missions, but I will be sure not to fall into the trap of grinding! I just want a little more cash fast to upgrade my asp. :)

Back in the days rare running in my Asp is how I made credits to finally get into a Type 7, then Clipper, then Python, then Type 9. I also kept pew pew ships to break up the grind.

You won't make big credits until you reach Tycoon and Allied for the smuggling missions. You may get lucky with a lower 1 or 2 million mission, but rares loops are probably still profitable next to RES grinding.
