When I accidentally deleted my save by accident (don't ask and spare my blushes), support were able to restore most of my save from a backup. I lost all my exploration data and bounties not cashed but kept the ships and modules that I had at the time of the backup.If you've played for any length since resetting your commander, you're out of luck.
You don't have a rewind button in this game and the support will need a very good reason.
