Horizons How to refuel SRV?

Other than going to a station, how do you refuel an SRV? I see in the Syntesis tab there is an option to craft a refueling of the SRV, but in fact, all the SRV-related synthesis options are red and disabled, showing the warning that "You must have an SRV to do this". But I have two SRVs on my Conda. So then why can't I do it? I have all the required mats.

Having to land at a station to refuel an SRV is kind of a showstopper for a long exploration run.

Or am I missing something?

Maybe it's just a bug on the XBOX? (I did try relogging so I'm sure it's not related to the common bug where XBOX forgets that you have Horizons installed and blocks you from Horizons-related options.)

I think you have to wait till you get to a station/base/outpost for it to refuel. I always notice a little message in RED right as I land saying "SRV REFUELED". You can also MAKE fuel on the spot using materials you find on the surface.

Check the INVENTORY/SYNTHESIS section on your RIGHT panel in cockpit.

You can refuel SRV if you drive it iirc, not sure though never tried to refuel SRV from ship. Synthesis tab tells you how many and what kind of resources you need.

Hi,
For clarity:-

The SRV will refuel when you dock at a base.

Otherwise, you need to collect the appropriate materials from a planet (see the synthesis tab for the recipes).
Once you have materials, they stay with you whether you're in your ship, SRV or escape capsule.

To refuel or re-ammunition the SRV, you need to be inside it, then select the synthesis option.
Similarly, for ship equipment (enhanced jump, re-ammunition etc), you need to be in the ship.

I'd suggest that you don't synthesise the enhanced SRV fuels - the mercury and arsenic required are rare, and have not profitable uses....

Hi Commanders!

New Horizons owner and inexperienced SRV driver :) Stuck with 40% fuel and afraid to take it out.

Question1: So..how am I supposed to refill the SRV tank -
option 1: mandatory mining or refill at stations?
option 2: sell/rebuy at stations?

Question2 - what happens if I'm in SRV and fuel finishes? Will I be able to call and board the ship somehow? :x

Question3 - I can see in info pannel sometimes "SRV fuel replenished", but it never does. Is that a bug?

I think it is - PITA as I am in Colonia and jumped out to find a planet to land on and it still said fuel 45%, this was after going back to Colonia and docking.

This is still just an incorrect reading. I have driven around for ages without refueling from a 45% full tank and suddenly it comes up with a warning "50% fuel remaining." If it says 45% you are actually full, it's just a bug that has never been fixed.

I don't see the actual response to how to actually refuel the SRV. I do that very often as I am spending hours driving around planets w/o recalling ship. Very often I refuel my SRV 3 to 4 times per session. You need sulphur and phosphorus as mentioned before. Then go to right hand side panel while in SRV. Go to modules >> fuel tank. You'll see the option to refuel SRV. It will take 1 sulphur and 1 phosphorus to fill up the tank. Makes no difference if your tank is nearly empty or 50%. It will take the same amount of materials...

I see synthesis was mentioned a few times, however a detailed explanation never goes astray just in case a player is new and doesn't understand what we mean when we say "synthesis".

On the rare occasions I need to refuel my SRV I use the synthesis menu in the inventory tab. I never knew it was possible from the modules tab too.

Now I think of it, I've never even looked at modules while in the SRV.

U need the required materials, it'll be orange then your golden

Super Necro: Got mats to refuel -- but now they're on the ship. Do I need to transfer phos and sulfer back onto the SRV in order to create more fuel?
