How to reinstall on Steam without losing bindings, journals, stars visited, etc ...

Turns out the SSD drive I have the Steam version of Odyssey installed on has gone bad and is corrupt. I know I can uninstall and then reinstall to another drive but what what files in AppData/SavedGames do I need to save?

I know about:

bindings directory
jornal files
VisitedStarsCache.dat

But is there anything else that I need to save? The other question is Steam even going to touch AppData/SavedGames? How would I go about restoring the files from a backup? AppData/SavedGames are on my C: drive so there should be no data corruption issue with those.

Just backup the entire Frontier Developments folder in case it's deleted during the uninstall. If you want to keep all your journal files and history, backup your AppData\Local\Frontier Developments folder as well (not Frontier_Developments). After you finish re-installing ED, compare the properties of each existing folder to the folders you previously copied. If they match, you're good to go. If the existing folders contain less data, just copy the backups over them (overwrite).

I currently have two separate ED installs on my E: drive. One is from Steam, the other is from the direct-from-Frontier launcher. Both share the same data folders on my C: drive.
