How to submit a drabble

until then? we could fire up a drabble thread... anyone got a list of rules for it??

We could call it Abraka Drabble

Rules are basic, a drabble must be EXACTLY 100 words excluding title - that is all.

careful when you do the word count though as some word processors pick up hyphenated words as 2 not one word and others include some punctuation like an Ellipses as a word so it can be hard to judge.

I've written an instructive drabble that I should be able to post next week - not universe related but educational & entertaining nonetheless.

hum, no and to prevent you from committing the offence I've gone and added a quick drabbles page to the site, complete with a brand new never seen drabble by myself as an example/test piece. it's still a bit rough but will fill the gap

the page is fully (ish) integrated into the CMF so updating it is as easy as copying a word document to a forum post.

as each new drabble comes in i'll put them to the top of the page, best to email them to me if you want to get them up quickly as i can post them to the site from my phone.

full submission details on the page.

Elite Dangerous: a game set in space, you can tell as the fan sites are waitless :D

You all worry me...

To the OP, my apologies if you saw my post as negative and some way of saying no to drabbles. That wasn't my intent. My intent was to say that Frontier probably won't be able to check and canonize them. As Allen reiterated, they're snowed under as it is.

If a thread is desired, go for it. AndyB's site is awesome and the perfect place for them, so go there too!

Fan fiction is one thing that kept Elite alive for all this time, so why would anyone refuse somebody the contribute some?

Without wanting to speak out of turn (Ashley or Michael will correct me if I am wrong), writing them is fine, you've no need to worry on that score.

The issue is their appearance in the newsletter. The moment they are published in the newsletter they become official and canon. The original post suggested submitting them. In the circumstances, I would suggest not doing that. There is already a large amount of writing for the game and fiction waiting in the approval queue and poor Michael has more than enough to do with keeping up on that.

I wouldn't worry about the Thargoid and Fer de Lance. ;)

This is correct, feel free to have fun with them. I write drabbles for an Indie newsletter, they're a fun exercise.

Psyko,

here's an idea for you. Get together a few willing victims and set up a poll with their names. Then post their Drabbles on the same thread. A Drabbling contest!

I mean I WOULD take part myself but the English what I type is worst than both of us put together.

Sorry for going quiet for a bit - I popped out to Leesti to watch the cricket.

This is all sounding much more positive - it's just nice to hear there's somewhere for me to put my mindfart to upset the unexpecting...
