How to tell what version of ED I am running?

When you click on the launcher, you need to select one from the list. I'm not sure if you hit ESC in-game if it tells you the version, or just a complicated string relating to the server instance you are connected to?

Thanks, I've attached a grab from the Launcher. does that tell me anything?

You always play the latest, there is no way to play "old" version. The game simply won't launch old version and you need to update when update is available to be able to play the game.

Then there is the elite dangerous 32 bit, elite dangerous 64 bit and horizon. If you have horizon installed you also have elite dangerous 64 bit installed but no 32 bit version.

My previous post was written before i saw this.

You have installed 32 bit version. If your computer/operating systme supports 64 bit you should use elite dangerous 64 bit instead. If i remember they are two different installs. (so to play 64 bit you need to install 64 bit client.)

And as you don't own horizon expansion that part doesn't effect you. But still you can't launch old version. You can only play if the game is up-to-date.

The current versions are 1.7 for the base game and 2.2 for Horizons. If your launcher button says "Play" (not "Upgrade"), the current version is installed.

If you want to know which build version of the launcher you are running, as opposed to the 2.2.03 server version, look in \Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\ for the VersionInfo.txt
