How to travel to friends location?

Hi there, sorry if this has been answered before but I am finding it difficult to warp/supercruise to friends in game. There doesn't seem to be any option to travel to a friends location within the same system and this seems like a fairly big omission to me, can anyone link me to previous forum post or provide a solution? Thanks :)

A lot of the co-op mechanics are in their infancy right now.

Among them are creating proper groups, slaving hyperdrives with your friends so that you all travel to the same place, and a proper in-game chat system that allows you to talk to friends without closing to ramming distance.

We can't really do any of that quite yet, but eventually we will be able to group up with friends and fly around together.

For the moment, you and your friend can agree on a location and hope that you get placed in the same instance. Sometimes you will, sometimes you won't.

Agreeing on a POI to meet at would be a good start - space is big and scanners have limited range. Stations might be the best meeting point.

There was talk at one point of being able to make your ship generate a gravity well so your friends could lock on to your location.

I've not seen any more confirmation of this point though.

I also heard about deployable rendez vous beacons.

yeah that would be a great solution to the problem if you could just deploy a beacon from your cargo and then your friends could warp to it, i am expecting things to progress and hold out hope for beta 2 as atm navigating with a friend is a bit of a nightmare especially when one of you is interdicted during super cruise and the other isn't
