How to use Sirius corporate contracts against Li Yong-Rui?

Hello everyone,

so I want to oppose Li Yong-Rui's expansion. The game says that in order to do so, I need to attack Corporation ships in the system he tries to expand to, steal the Sirius corporate contracts they are hauling, and return those to a control system of my own faction.

I have engaged the Corporation ships, seized the contracts and returned to a control system of my power. However, at the power contact in the star base I find no option to deliver them?! How do I get them processed?

I would like to add that after seizing the contracts, I defected my power for another power and tried to deliver the contracts to the latter. However, the power I am opposing is still Li Yong-Rui, and the method to do so is still the one described above. I can hardly imagine the cargo contracts somehow being flagged as destined for my previous power. At least before discarding them I would like to hear confirmation that this is really the reason for my trouble. They were hard enough to obtain and move to the control system, and I would hate to discard them for no reason.

Thank you in advance!

I'm having the same problem. I didn't defect, however I have 50 tonnes of these contracts and no way to get any merit for them at my (Patreus) control system.

I had the options to hand in the merits earned by killing the opposing power's ships, and the option to hand in the "friendly" cargo that you'd get from your faction HQ. But no mention at all of handing in the stolen expansion cargo.

Same here, except that the merits were lost because I still belonged to the other faction when I killed the ships. But if Vojaka is expeciencing the same with defecting, then it really appears to be related to defection. At least that means that I am not generally doing the wrong thing, and my next load of contracts, earned while belonging to the new faction, will hopefully work.

Out4Blood, just to clarify, I *didn't* defect. I started with Patreus, went in to Li Yong territory, stole contracts, came back to Patreus control system, and am unable to do anything with these contracts. I even flew back in to Li's territory to try giving them to the powerplay contact at the enemy station, however no luck there either. Something is messed up.

Okay, I think I have now figured out what this is about. When you destroy a Corporation ship, you get the merits, plus some vouchers (like bounty vouchers). You fly to one of your control systems, and there you cash in the vouchers. You get a tiny bit of money and a few merits for them, and your contribution to the opposition value of the system in question is applied.

In other words, the contracts are garbage. You do not need them at all! Either the game description is simply wrong, or this is a major bug. As a matter of fact I still have the contracts in my cargo hold after cashing in the voucher. This also explains why I got nothing the first time. Of course my voucher for my old despot was voided when I defected to another one.

I still have to verify whether the vouchers will be there and in effect when I really return with no contracts, or whether the contracts need to sit in your cargo space when you cash in the vouchers. I expect the former, but I will find that out as well.

In the meantime, it is safe to dump the contracts. Just make sure not to do it in the station, or it will be a fine per ton. :D

he is the only power dedicated to explorations, and is neutral to everyone, why would you ever want to attack these people ?

Ok, the vouchers are there; and the contracts are most obviously unnecessary. This is good news, because it means I can remove all cargo space from my combat ship.

Did you try selling them on black market?
Of course I did. Not possible. They cannot be sold on the black or regular market, they are classified "stolen", and as such, they are even treated as "illegal cargo" in scans near the base of the capital system I tried to deliver them to.

Who do you mean with "he"? Li Yong-Rui? He is a different leader from the one I am working for, and "different" means "hostile" by definition.
