How will you equip your ship(s) for Thargoid encounters

all the strong healthy thargoids go to our bubble so I travel to their home system and do like humans always do and kill all that did stay home

I will probably place a decal of this kind on the front of my ship

I wonder how SDC will explain why they are in Thargoid space shooting all these lovely CMDRs turning up in combat ships with unfortunately anti-thargoid weapons on board... ;)

I'm sure they'll come up with some good reasoning :)

The only value thargoids bring to PVP is a source for even more efficient ways to dispatch commanders. This is where the game is now. Between that and the new commander only C&P system I tend to think open will indeed become quite vacant.

I don't think there is much point in worrying about it at the moment, I'm expecting new blueprints/mats/engineer grind/weapons/shields to show up when the Targoids do. I'm also expecting that if you don't want to interact with Thargoids, it won't be an issue seeing as they will be off in their own section of the galaxy, which will give players plenty of time to grind out said upgrades if they want to go bug hunting.
I expect FD will use the CG templates to unlock items that will be needed for the Thargoid story, hopefully they will get it right.

To begin, I'll likely equip my Cobra Mk3 with the Thargoid scanner modules, and hone it for speed. Then make a few plays gathering data, and seeing what lies there.

For combat... My CMDR role play has been largely non-violent/combat thus far, having turned his back on those ways. But for the Thargoids, he is likely again take up arms in defense of humanity. Even though I don't play much (barely any) combat with my CMDR, I have a combat fitted FdL and FAS. My long-jumping Anaconda could be re-outfitted for Thargoid combat. But I enjoy small ships so much more, I'm tempted to build a combat Eagle or Cobra Mk3, perhaps a Vulture. Any of that will play out as the Thargoid story advances, however.

It's a holy war apparently. /shrug.

I'm going to do anytime I play Elite.

I will equip my ship with requisite cans of RAID bug spray once they become available, and engineer them to be highly effective.

Otherwise, I won't be doing anything special. Just nice to have something to do at all. Challenge of being 1800 hours in; not a lot of things get me out of my ship's lounge anymore.

Now we know a bit more about what's coming in 2.4, I'm wondering what you'll all do regards equipping your ships for Thargoid encounters.

Will you get anti-Thargoid defences and weapons on all your ships, a couple of your ships, one of your ships, or none of them?

Will you stay in the bubble, go to Colonia, or head off into the black?

I'm thinking I might build one Thargoid hunter ship, but just equip the rest of my fleet with anti-Thargoid defences.

I shall equip mine with...

Class 1 Sudoku
Class 6 Egg timer
Class 8 Solitaire
Class 2 Minesweeper

and of course kerplunk!

need something to do while waiting around for thargoids interdictions....
