First, what am I sipping on? Important step here....if it's hot tea I carefully set it down as I eye my UI carefully but quickly forming a decision that is not a over-reaction. If it's a beer, I slam it on the desk, let out a barbaric YELP! and open hard points with a stealy eyed grin.

Nothing much really. Apart from shooting them or just flying away there isn't rrally a thing one could possibly do. I mean, there is no other way to interact with them.

These are the Thargoids of legend, this is your Kobayashi Maru…

The question is simple – how do you react?

Honestly tho, it's about the only thing that would bring me back to open play.

The idea of 30+ human commanders flying together to defend a station or system against the thargoids sounds god damn amazing and WOULD bring something unique to Elite Dangerous.

I prey for the day this happens!

On a serious note, I've spent the last couple months modding my Exploraconda (among other ships) to the hilt with top shelf upgrades, and now that thing's a BEAST; just bring it on, buggers!

I would power down shields and weapons, retract hardpoints, open comms to the lead ship and invite them to a relaxing sip of Neutron Star's heavy particle enriched Whisky...
If they planned to attack in the first place, i at least die on my ships bridge with a vaporizing taste of finest firewater...

If you played the original Elite, you'd know, you can barely survive contact with a single thargoid ship, even in a military class fitted vessel...
