I don't think I've seen this thread before otherwise I think I would have contributed, but then again I'm fairly new here. This kind of thread is right up my alley. I love imaging things like this. So we've now gotten two packs since the thread came out. It looks like the original format was 4 DLC per year, but it looks like might be 3 per year, really. So I'm going to do 3 per year at four years, still 12 packs, minus the two we've gotten - 10 more packs.
2020 - African Support Pack - one new habitat animal rig, three reskinned or modified rigs.
Meerkat (obviously the new rig animal)
African Leopard
Golden Jackal
White or Black Rhino
Exhibit animal: Black Mamba
2021 - Coastal Pack - these are going to include animals that might could be considered marine animals, in that if the game branched off into that they could be enhanced with that addition. But they also spend much time on land and could work without the marine uses - or at worst they could float. Work on this would be fairly involved, which is why the preceding and subsequent packs will be (mostly) more dependent on existing rigs -
Pacific Walrus
King Penguin
California Seal Lion
Harbor Seal
Exhibit animal: Atlantic Ghost Crab - I had other exhibit animal ideas but it seems they are more water based than land based. This one would do.
2021 - North American Pack - As mentioned above, this will be fairly heavy on existing rigs, to offset the need for all new rigs on the Coastal Pack
North American River Otter (the new rig animal)
Coyote
American Black Bear
Moose
Exhibit Animal - Snapping Turtle
2021 - European Pack
Alpine Ibex
Iberian Lynx (new rig, opening up the gateway for small cat species)
European Badger (new rig, opening up the gateway for medium sized burrowing animals)
Wild Boar
Exhibit animal - Hermann's Tortoise
2022 - Asia Pack
Clouded Leopard (now no longer needing a new rig since we have a small cat rig)
Lar Gibbon
Mayalan Tapir
Markhor
Exhibit Animal: - The King Cobra
We've gone through all the major land masses, it's time to revisit them since it's only a handful of animals in each pack. I was going to add a birds pack as well, but since we're taking most birds off the table, I'll comply, though I may add a handful of mostly ground based birds in the packs. Trust me though I do want birds and think the flying mechanic will be added, but rules are rules.
2022 - Australia and Oceania Pack 2
Wombat (now not needing a new rig thanks to the European Badger)
Platypus (yeah, this'll definitely need a new rig)
Kiwi
Tasmanian Devil (not sure if this would need a new rig or not, they might could modify the badger rig, but let's assume it would need a new rig)
Exhibit: Frilled Lizard
2022 - South American Pack 2
Three Toed Sloth (all new rig, since the Koala rig won't cut it I don't think)
Cabybara (new rig but it will get some more usage)
Ocelot
Maned Wolf
Exhibit Animal: I'm honestly at a loss here. There's so many...I can't choose. I want to say Anaconda but that would be too big I think for an exhibit.
2023 - North American Pack 2
Cougar (aka Mountain Lion, Puma)
Wolverine (using that badger or tasmanian devil rig)
Bighorn Sheep
Rocky Mountain Goat
Exhibit Animal: Copperhead Snake
2023 - Coastal Animals 2
Rockhopper Penguin
Harp Seal
Leopard Seal
Cape Penguin
Exhibit Animal - I'm at a loss here as well. I don't want to do a species that's too dependent on marine biome but I don't know what
2023 -African Pack 2 - I do feel with the amount of iconic and zoo related African animals that African can indeed support 2 addition packs. I'd love to add a particular bird into this but rules are rules.
Honey Badger (using that badger rig)
Crested Porcupine (using that Capybara rig)
Masai Giraffe
South African Lion
Exhibit animal - South African Bushmaster (snake)
Looking back, I THINK that leaves three rigs that are only used once - the meerkat, the sloth and the platypus. I know the importance of using rigs more than once and I can see them not doing a sloth or platypus, but I really do think meerkats will be in this game at some point, even if they can't reuse the rig. They're too iconic of a "fun" species for zoos to not include.
