HUD Crosshairs for navigation please!

Hi there

Dunno about other people, but it'd be nice if there was a crosshairs so it's easier to point your ship in the direction you want to travel.

I find it very annoying when I'm trying to fly out of a space station, and miscalculate my direction slightly, and up bumping into the rim of the portal...

...and it's annoying to have to keep making minor course corrections heading for a station during supercruise.

Cheers!

Yeah, it's not too bad but is definitely worse for some ships - I found the extra vertical gauge on the left hand side of the HUD really useful in this regard - centre line is exactly the centre line of movement. The middle of your scanner being the horizontal centre - of course you don't get that line on a hauler, so that won't help much in every circumstance.

I did not know that existed - particularly when using head tracking of some sort, this option is going to be invaluable, thanks!

Yeah, velocity vector display would be awesome, particularly for flying without flight assist (although after a while it seems to get more "natural")...

Time to push this up ;)

I'm using the mouse widget for a long time now
Options > Controls > Show Mouse Widget set to On
, BUT this ugly fat dot is not really a crosshair.

Please add a real crosshair or at least a option to add self-created crosshairs (even if it's only a hidden setting in a ini-file) to ED.

Another issue with the mouse widget: I own a headtracker and when I activate the free view the mouse widget becomes invisible.
A crosshair should stay everytime in the direct forward direction. I would help massively to handle the ship precise when using the free view
or when having a asymetric cockpit view (e.g. Fer-De-Lance)

So: *push* to get this back in mind

fly save, commanders ... and not too drunk :D

Yessss, it (the mouse widget) is permanently on in 2.3 - even if you've headlook enabled.

Thanks, FD-Team :D
