Hyperdiction when LEAVING combat system

Going to post this here, even though I'm sure there will be naysayers. I just want it on record.

Yesterday, after a round of fighting in HIP 22460, I was hyperdicted while LEAVING the system.

Until this date, I would get hyperdicted (almost all the time now) while ENTERING a thargoid system.

Further more, they were auto angry when they arrived. I did use my field neutralizer, but in the past, that didn't make them mad, they'd just leave. I guess they only like molesting unpowered ships.

Hyperdictions can happen when entering or leaving thargoid inhabited space.
At the moment you're extremely likely to get hyperdicted when entering HIP 22460, unless you're in Horizons or part of a wing. Maybe they're trying to stop people bringing in more guardian artifacts.

Note that when a hyperdiction happens, you fall out of witch space still in the system you were jumping from - in this case, you were still in HIP 22460 where all thargoids are immediately hostile on sight (and have broken swarms).

The second you drop into normal space, go FA off, put all pips to engines and spam the boost button. That way, even if you lose power, you'll still me moving away at a fair lick..

I was hyperdicted while LEAVING the system.

You only get hyperdicted when entering witchspace. Not on Exiting witchspace

You drop in the same system you were jumping from. And yes. You can get hyperdicted from systems everywhere around infected systems. Not just from infected systems.

You totally misread my message.

I was hyperdicted while leaving the thargoid system. Not while leaving witch space. It generally only happens when entering a thargoid system.

Wow. Yes people, I know how to deal with hyperdiction. Not my first or even 100th rodeo. Just posting that several unusual events occured.
Called it about the naysayers, though.

Hyperdictions are not limited to infested/thargoid systems. They appear in a circle around merope, coalack, Witchhead nebula and some others places

Sure you didnt miss read my message?

I wonder if Thargoids really are keeping a tally of who the "bad guys" are. I popped in and out of HIP 22460 a few times and never got interdicted; but I have never killed any Thargoids.

Yes. Once you are marked apparently you stay marked.

From the AXI website:

Based on combined research from Canonn and AXI we have found that collecting a sensor and jumping at least once with the sensor activates a hidden permanent ‘marked’ effect that applies a 20% Hyperdiction chance in the Pleiades and Witch Head Region.

To gather this data we performed the following test several times over on different accounts:
  1. Jump 100 times between two systems in Pleiades (Result: Zero Hyperdictions)
  2. Collect a Thargoid Sensor (Also tested Probes and the Proximity Scan from the sensor)
  3. Jump 100 times between the same two systems in the Pleiades (Results: ~20 Hyperdictions)
  4. To further confirm the Hyperdiction rate, CMDR Maligno has done over ~500 Jumps around these regions and found a very constant rate of ~20% per jump (once ‘marked’)

Interesting that the "mark" is something as innocuous as picking up a sensor.

Well, I guess you're basically stealing their highly specialized equipment that they put into place to measure some kind of data and running away with it, so I guess it's not really all that innocent.

I honestly can't remember if I've ever picked up a sensor or not. I may have, but I don't think so. Guess I'll have my answer if I ever get hyperdicted.

I haven't spent a lot of time around the Plieades but I did hop around doing Palin's mission and I've never been hyperdicted at all. I also spent some time in the area during the AEGIS storyline scooping up escape pods from wreckage and handing them over to search-and-rescue contacts.

Though, doing Palin's mission does mean I've blasted some of the little Thargoid roombas that scoot around Thargoid sites. But I guess they don't count as Thargicide.
