Ever since the Ascendancy update, jump times are longer and infinite black screens when moving between on-foot and vehicles has become more common. Someone has programmed some of the new systems in an inefficient manner from a client-server perspective. Instancing is not more laggy, so the P2P tech that governs multiplayer seems to be affected. But any time the game has to communicate with FDs servers seems to have been made worse. There's probably something about how Powerplay 2.0 propagates its data between servers and players that has bad code. Too much stuff is being shoved into too narrow pipes. Too many things are waiting for other things to finish before starting in the absence of a multithreaded solution. Something like that seems to be going on.
EDIT: NEVERMIND, instancing is broken as well. All combat becomes unplayable when there's another cmdr in instance.
