Jump straight in!
I did, and I blizzed through the tutoriels and didn't how to land when I got onto online, play there were 6 other noobs like me and only one could land. I got kicked out of the space station for taking 10 minutes to land and all my CR went into repairing my damn ship, and I also have a galaxy-wide fine... quick question: how do I know the players that are good and bad, the ones that are criminals/pirates/killers, etc...

Be, act, fly and land aggressively. The game rewards the aggressive. Fly faster and push through crowds in stations. Fines are cheap compared to time wasted. I get no sense of motion if I am doing less than 200. Get through the door. Put that gear down and use your up, down, port, starboard thruster keys to do the landing. I think thruster use for close encounters is pretty important to getting a lot of things done forcefully.

Oh, and a couple hours in-game time for each count on Universal Offences will clock them off and then you can get to a "Factors" and pay your fines. If your console flags you as "Wanted" in a system than find another system to port in to avoid getting sent to detention.

Opt to solo or private group, dont select combat missions, only simple trade missions or just find a safe resource system and export from it; use the trade route filter; filter out anarchy systems etc.

Begin slow if youre not combat savvy and start out simple and work you've way up. Eventually you will get to grips.

Dont worry about credits, they are easy to obtain.

The training will give you the basics but experience will tell you what your good at.

I would say that you have virtually no chance of progressing in the game if you don't watch tutorials.

If you actually watched and participated in the numerous videos aka tutorials. And you still having issues, then your either lying or trolling or just plain blind as a bat. Frontier Development aka Fdev, has spent a great deal of money, time and effort just so noobs as you profess to be, can start the game without some of the veteran killing you the first time you leave the station.
Without watching and or participating, you are going to end up extremel dissatisfied and wishing you could get a refund.

Good Luck! Your gonna need it.

I just can't respect you as a human being if you can't acheve a Cobra horizontal 720° at 250 w/FA off exit through a mail slot. Sorry.

Be patient, you'll not learn to fly and play well in one day, I'd be more concerned to purchase a good ship and then learn to use it and get good money.

I'm new and I don't know what to do, watch tutoriels or jump straight into the game and get picked off by pirates ready tohave no mercy on me?
Both at the same time and go for the most hillarious fly by the seat of your pants outcome possible!

Don't worry about money. Break all systems. Attack anything and everything. Be the pariah!!!

Best first thing to try. Attack the station using your free ship over and over and see if you can destroy it!!!

If the pirates attack you, attack them. They won't be in free ships. They are WWWEEEAAKKKK!!!!!
