I bought a Vulture....

In case anyone's interested, I just bought a Vulture, and it cost me a smidge under 22 million...

Then another 13 million to fit it out properly....

But...I LOVE IT

It turns with a Viper, and an Eagle, and burns up a T9 in less than 30 secs. It's ridiculously manoeuvrable!

Heat management is brilliant too, I can sit by a sun all day scooping at 75k's (2A scoop) and not go above 65 degrees.

During FSD charge it only raises the temps about 4-5 degrees.

With 4 pips in engines it boosts to a bit under 400...and can do it constantly.

Nothing (yet) has burnt through more than one ring of shield, and that was 3 on one.

Oh, and it sounds amazing!!

And I totally disagree with those saying it's ugly...it's not!

No-one tell FDEVS or they'll nerf it!

Is there an easy way to find where these things are sold? Been station hopping for an hour or so now and yet to find somewhere that sells them. Torn between finding this thing and catching up on 'Alphas' !

Nope, but I got mine at LFT 928, then flew over to Founders to get the upgrades at a discount.

I found my Vulture at BETA-1 Tucanae at Adams orbital. You need to equip it at certain places too or you will not find the right stuff. I've spent about 35M Cr but I'm not totally convinced yet..... Might prefer the Viper yet. Biggest pain is the lack of a pair of smaller hard points to go with the large. I'd like to fit a pair of multi-canons with the size 3 beam lasers.

I suspect I went a similar route judging by cost alone (I was tempted to buy a Vulture with the 10% off at Founders).

I went with gimballed pulses, shield booster, PD and chaff. All A modules. I come out at slightly over 100% if I fight with non-essentials disabled (including O2), however, it seems like a rounding error is on my side since I am still able to power weapons, shields and thrusters plus all defensive modules.

No thanks.

FD lost their minds.

I love the ship from beta, but I'm not wasting money on something so expensive when all I do is fight (no trading to support high costs), and since I don't play as often, my profits are tad low atm.

Like I said, FD lost their minds.

I went with fixed beams, and a variety of modules, and it manages power pretty well, with all the usual stuff set to priority 3.

I can fire for a whole 5 secs continuously!

Which is longer than I can keep fixed beams on target, so it's not a problem

I don't think it is, unless you keep hitting 'self-destruct' by accident

Trading is the support mechanism for the fun stuff imho...I do it to make money to fund this sort of ship, then I go out and have FUN!

Much obliged. I wonder if FD will tweak the power given the uproar in the costs thread. Mind you, that is the wrong direction for FD tweaking - stats don't get better...

I have mine fitted out very nicely for combat. Will smoke PvE, and hold its own PvP, and still has 16 cargo space and 16 ly jump range, with no power issues whatsoever. Love it.

Im looking forward to getting to it again on my 2nd time round
