I cancelled my CV1 pre-order

Oh boy here comes the early adopter speech for you hold on to your nut sack. The answer you will get on here is to actually throw more money at the problem, good luck.

Hmm, not sure what you mean, English is not my natural language so sometimes i don't get sarcasm os subtilness.

Just in case, this thread was open because somebody cancelled his CV1 due to the god rays, many people, some who already have the device, answered he was such a fool for that, they sound so convinced that i thought, ok it's has not so bad then.

I payed, i tryed and i gave my opinion...THIS is bad, really bad, so i have a lot of nice improvements other that are not so good, and this.. which is really bad, now i have to see if the good things keep me using it ot regret it and wait for another generation.

Those who play often other games will be happy, games that don't have a contrast, this means, clear and bright notes of color over black, war thunder looks amazing, valkirye look wonderfull, basically this game doesn't have black space in many scenarios so you don't notice the GD too much.

But if your first goal is playing Elite, like me (and this is a ED forum), then i would suggest to try the device first, because i have to stop and constantly move the headset of position in my face searching for a spot where i don't notice it too much, without any success, those who say they don't care, is because they acepted the pros of the device and discarded the cons, maybe i can be one of them but i thought is honest to say here.. beware!.

The DK2 is easily good enough resolution wise and the CV1 is even better. You'll be waiting at least 3yrs for 4k, maybe 4 or 5. Meanwhile, you are stuck with a 2d monitor(s) and I wouldn't even waste a second of my time gaming with rubbish like that.

Yeah, that's an issue for me. Like many others, I already play in 4k (on 40") and I can see the difference very good.
Both OR and Vive cover the complete FoV and not just a part of it, hence 2k will be noticeable worse.

The upside is, that I can watch videos, catch up on forum posts, chat etc. simultaneously while playing. Probably that wouldn't be feasible in VR.

Still, I'm going to get one for testing as soon as one of them becomes available (which one is better?).

Agreed monitor play is more convenient (especially for trading if you have a spreadsheet up). Still, I'd rather go for immersion.
