Yeah, well I obviously have Horizons otherwise I wouldnt have been Prospecting on the planets. The fact remains, I was so badly stuck that nothing, not even 2 re-logs could "un-stuck" () me. These things happen and will continue too. I really didn't loose one credit over it. 2,400 lrs of honking (rnd trip) more than paid for a new srv. So let's not make it a bigger issue than it needs to be.

Could you live without a beefy fuel tank, sure but why would you choose such. Like I said, I rather not have to stop at a star every jump, before traveling to the planets to fully scan them(another reason you want good engines, yikes some of them are like 477,000 ls from the jump in point)

As for sensors, the farther away you can get your discovery , the better.

For my exploration ships i use the biggest scoop i can slot. That will refill my tank on the way around the star to my next destination. I never slot extra fuel tanks.

That's such a common tactic though, I don't want to be forced to plot a course based on if a star's scoopable or not.

Lol, not every star needs to be scoopable.
For example, AspX with 32t tank can do 6 max range jumps in a row before needing to refuel. Using economic route plotter the amount increases dramatically.
