Then why not just put a post-it on your monitor? I had a pc print a variable I gave it in 1989, and I was four at the time. I expect more now.

Guys, thats not true. Without ship plate, your ship name will NOT be visible in any way at all to anyone else. Its NOT just a cosmetic texture. The entire shipnaming function will NOT work without ship plates from the store. Its in the patch notes. I am in beta. I can name my ship. Noone can see it until shipplates are made available in the store.

Really? I just reviewed the patch release notes and it's unclear if that's the case. I was able to name my ship in the beta and it shows up in my UI (without a nameplate).

Even so, I find it hard to care. I mostly fly in Solo.

Ship Naming
● If it's not our ship and they have no name plates, then we don't know the ship's name.

You see your own plate, and the plate of your mothership when in the SLF. Beyond that you need the store.

You may not care, and thats fine, but lets make sure we know what's what.

If you haven't got beta access you didn't buy "the whole thing" you just paid for the release version. I paid for "the whole thing" so I do have beta access. It's not that difficult to understand.

You paid less, and got less. Simple.

You can demand Alpha access and the rights to use the toilets at Frontier's offices too if you want. Like beta, they're not included in what you paid for. If you'd read the small print when you made your purchase you'd already know this.

I don't see how not being in the Beta can make anyone feel disadvantaged or make them feel cheated or anything else. Some games have free Beta's under a strict NDA so some are in it, you can't tell anyone you are, and a lot aren't. At least FD makes there Beta NDA free, and anyone can watch video's as it progresses from those in it who post updates as they go. So in essence you may not get to test the content, you will see it, read about it, and will eventually play it and know what came and went along the way, compared to closed Beta's where if the rules of the NDA are followed you have no idea who is in the Beta, know nothing about it, what is in it or removed till announced and goes gold. So pay to play now or wait, you will get it when released with the added benefit as I said, you will know a lot about it from watching the video's others post, and that is all free.

The last added benefit of waiting, you saw it, now when you experience it on a live server for the first time the 'thrill' excitement and the OH WOW this is what they were talking about will be with you, while those in Beta will not have much of anything to look forward to having seen most of it and played it already.
