Hello there,

after having a major headache for several weeks that could only be cured by finally joining the beta I realized a new headache several days ago. Also this one could be cured. By ordering the "Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog"- Joystick - gnihihi. My investment in this GAME has now reached a level I certainely cannot tell my girlfriend about.

I do not know what has happened. But my guess would be I am looking forward to this particular game in a way I didn´t for a looooooong, loooooong time. All these youtube videos, all the facts about stuff that´s planned, all the things you can already experience. Yes, it might be premature, but I put all my money on this horse.

Well... this post was certainly of no particular interest for you, kind reader. I sincerely apologize: I only wanted to share my watching myself acting like a sweet, little child with christmas just a few days ahead :) - I am 42^^

Perspective: if this all really works out, my commander´s chair with triple-display-mayhem will be constructed in fact during the christmas-holidays this year :)

I am sure that you will enjoy your new stick. There are quite a few threads on setting up and using your new toy :)

How do you manage to hide this expense from your girlfriend! I'd never get it all past the Wife!
I'm wondering how you are going to explain the coommanders chair away ;)

But I also know what you mean, I managed to fund the Premium Beta out of eBay sales using my Paypal account (which my Wife can't see in to) and I also have an X52 flightstick on the way!

This game has made me very devious :cool:

I have been resisting so far. My old Extreme 3D may yet survive beta but it will never make if past launch. Arena Commander may tip the scales sooner...

Yes, indeed! Thank you very much. Because of the huge, huge price of this huge, huge thing I invested several hours reading infos on this forum as well as user reviews to the product.
I am pretty sure that this device is worth it´s cost, although the cost is really, really high.

Well, the discussion itself won´t happen, because
- we know each other for only eight months now
- we still live in our own homes
- I guess, I am still in the phase where I am allowed a lot :)

Speaking about the commanders chair...
- I guess we found each other
- and plan to move in together late this year or early next year
- so there miiiiiiiight be some problem

BUT
- what´s there, is there, right?
- and: I managed to put together the money needed for our very first big holiday, we will spend 12 days together on Kreta


BUT
- I am definitely down to spaghetti for the next few weeks
- that might raise some suspicions...

hm... ^^

You will never, ever regret this purchase! (If it's any consolation to wallet/wife/girlfriend ;))

I'm in for a cheap second hand car, if I count peripherals, PC, ED KS investment et al. I regret nothing.

I've discovered that Girlfriend V2 is a far more understanding and flexible security medium than Wife V1 ever was! :)

He he! Second hand car territory here as well (KS pledge + PC + Saitek X52 Pro + a few books).

My wife knows how much I've spent. She thinks I'm mental. But it's my money. We have a joint account we both pay into and then both have personal accounts that we can do whatever we want with. No arguments about money. Lovely.

And besides I haven't spent anything on computer games and very little on computers in general for well over a decade. Oolite on an old laptop's been good enough for me. :)

Money is never an issue with my GF : we have separate accounts. The time spent on the game is a big problem though and the situation is very uncomfortable to say the least. To the OP : I feel your pain buddy.

It's a great piece of hardware and, like you, I bought one to play this game. :D

If it's any consolation, the Warthog will be the last joystick you will ever need to buy. So, pricey as it is, it should last a lifetime. Plus, I'm pretty sure you could retrofit it into a real spaceship should you ever be fortunate enough to obtain one. ;)
