Newcomer / Intro I finally left the cradle.

After a few months in the beginner's area I finally got annoyed with the low rated equipment on my Cobra III and decide to go find better hardware.
After docking in 3 or 4 different starports I noticed that they don't have those flight control-like recordings telling you to request permission to dock or announcing you that you left the no fire zone.
Are they all like that outside the beginner zone?

Right now, unfortunately, yes. FD introduced purchaseable voices for the Fleet Carrier flight controllers, and in turn borked the station controllers. About en par for the course. Should hopefully be fixed one of these days with a bugfix patch - maybe even Thursday with the weekly maintenance.

............. FD introduced purchaseable voices for the Fleet Carrier flight controllers, ......

Do you mean to say that people actually paid for that mumbling unintelligible male voice? Or was that the default and made so bad that everyone would spend Arx for a replacement?

The default was an almost inaudible version of the robot voice the engineers use except it was even less easy to understand.
So I suspect your latter confusion is justified.

I actually disabled those voices. For one they're annoying. They only provide a level of realism to the game. I just wish I could block those comms messages from Tourist ships. I'm not on the ship, nor am I part of the tour. Why should I be exposed to the in flight announcements. Like I care about the in flight entertainment. That's not realistic.
Secondly I still have enough voices in my head (the meds do work on the others), I have no need to hear "docking permission granted" while I'm driving on the road 🤪

Ah yes, my first day in the big black and those flight attendant messages are already annoying me too.
I don't see the point of it.
Cabin announcements are not broadcast on radio, they are done in the internal speakers.

There is no better hardware than the Cobra MK III.

But good luck.
Oooh, I love my Cobra III.
But in the beginners zone we can't find equipments better than D rated ones and that was frustrating me.
Now that I left, I put A rated power plant and thrusters and I'm loving it.
Now Im looking for places where I can find A rated power distributors and shields.

On normal cruse ships yes, but not on those 1% of the best liners in business. They need to let everybody know.
LOL
I really don't see the point in those broadcasts.
If we were able to book a cruise as passengers I would understand why they would advertise like that (but not condone).
But we can't so what's the point?

Oh, just take a ship and start blowing em up! 🤪
Voila...

LOL!!
I thought this "wedding barge" thing was a joke 🤣
Criminal ones are quite rare. I always scan them when they fly in front of me in super cruise. Only a few times a year I see a wanted one and then I take revenge for their sloppy radio discipline and get paid for the service.

Gotcha. I think I do have an A rated power distributer but my shields are weird hybrid things. I did find A rated shields in several places though, so keep your eye out. I just can't equip them because my power plant's completely maxed out. I've not travelled that far outside the bubble either.

That's funny. I hadn't really noticed cruise liners until recently, and only because your post made me do a quick check to see what they fly around as. That's a good tip though. I'm usually too busy recklessly entering a spaceport to bother scanning ships. Trust me, you don't wanna be coming out when I'm coming in. It's an insurance claim waiting to happen.
