Thank you both for the reply, Iv'e been giving it loads of thought and although I'm itching to try this as soon as possible logic is telling me wait a little longer.
If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing right, so I'm going to update my 770GTX to something with more grunt first and wait a little longer until i hear something on the CV1 this will give the bank balance some recovery time and if the CV1 is astronomical in cost I'll go with the DK2

Yep, I'm just going to live with it until I either:

• know what specs the CV1 has so I can plan GPU(s) that can run it smoothly at full speed, then get those
• see what nVidia's next GPU series is like (including price/performance compared to the 900 series) to see if it is a no-brainer for running the DK2 / CV1
• see nVidia have released the SLi VR driver update that will make 2 cards play nicely together in rendering an eye each for the rift, and then just get a second 760 (one should definitely manage half of 1080p at 75fps)
