OK I did follow the advice on the canonn thread but...

If you try for a UP or a mat and it doesn't show up try somewhere else after it start to get long....




(first destination doesn't count as I might have been circling the wrong planet without checking the system map - In my defence it was pretty)

So speed is a factor - I thought it was all just "check random number generator on entry to FSD, and then 'x' seconds thereafter"? Good to know. (Though I still think the instructions should include "Sacrifice chicken as offering to Papa Legba" - that can help too right?)

I could spend anywhere from 3 hours to a couple of days doing nothing more exciting than flying in supercruise throttles all the way down waiting for RNG, or I could spend about a minute waiting for the uninstall process to complete. Guess which one I'm gonna do. I've been waiting since launch to see if FDEV would ever finally get a clue. This latest thing with not being able to find a UP in a reasonable amount of time so I can watch what is essentially a cutscene has pushed my patience past the breaking point. I'm done hoping that FDEV will ever get it right.
