The Grand Experiment.
It was a hair brained idea.

And it took me months. I needed some breaks to mix things up at times.
The goal was to see if I could acquire the Polaris Permit by using the constellations that are seen in the galaxy map, when viewing the map from Sol, as a blueprint or road map.
I figured it had likely never been done by 1 commander. I'm still convinced that's true. The EDSM data suggests it.
I used Wikipedia and the Simbad Star Catalog to locate the systems for each constellation in game.
The naming in and out of game is rather complex and can be tricky so it's a constant process of double and triple checking the "Other designations."
Now I sit here in Jameson Memorial unsure of where to go and what to do from here.
I learned some things, I saw some stuff. I walked away alive and feeling fulfilled and having now resolved at least 1 question in the puzzle.
Besides the pre-discovered Listening Post I stumbled upon and the few systems in Orion that are locked in Col 70 Sector and one star of the Vela Constellation locked in the Regor Sector,
There appeared to be nothing out of the norm and to top it off I never got the permit.
"What if you scanned all the constellations visible on the galaxy from Sol, could the permit be acquired?"
The Answer is, no.
The Constellations I scanned are the 12 of the zodiac, Ursa Minor&Major, Vela, Puppis, Carinae and Orion.
