I give up on distress calls.

That's what I think.
It's an interesting gameplay to rescue ships without fuel or damaged, but I have no slots to waste with various limpet for the remote possibility of meeting a ship that needs it.
They should introduce missions of this type, which then direct you to ships without fuel or damaged, so it makes sense to equip the ship with certain limpet controllers.

This - if you are just going to be hauling passengers or cargo why would you dump some of your cargo/passenger space on the off chance you may find someone in need of help.

Thing is irl if you come across a car which is broken down how many of us carry some spare fuel?

But here's a thing it seems I have a space lasso which i can use to pull ships out of frame shift - why can i not use similar to pull ships into sc and then over to a station?

Ok still need an fsd interdictor instead of a limpet controller but...

or even better still actual have a 'tractor beam' which could be fitted to a utility slot.

As mentioned above - the new feature for these scenarios is that you can accept help request, go to a nearby station mount repair/fuel limpet controller and come back to help the fella.

Wait for 3.3 release, they seem to have changed the way distress calls work, now there are actually ships to help, that need both repair and or refueling. New FSS mechanism makes finding them easier.

Which is slightly better I suppose.... does this mean limpet controllers will be available in all systems at all stations or could you end up traipsing around trying to find one?

Would it not also be an option to just log a call with the interstellar aa when you get to the station and ok you maybe do not get loads of credits but that ship will then be rescued (making you feel like a decent human)

Yes, the system could be better.

But it could also not be improved at all.

Persistent USS in general are a MASSIVE improvement to the game. Never happy, this community, never! :D

I stopped at one and it was a ship that needed fuel but I didn't have any. Who (besides Fuel Rats) just carries around fuel?

OoooOOOOooooooh
Don't get me started on having dedicated Limpet Controllers when just one that we could program ourselves to do different jobs would be sooOOooo much better! [weird]
