That's bordering on the pathetic actually. I totally understand why they would put in some sort of profanity filter but that is not even slang. I struggle to think of any scenario where a child is going to be adversely affected by hearing the word "anus"! If their or your sensibilities really are that delicate then I heartily recommend you refrain from any sort of online gaming.

Now, to be honest, there is no reason to discuss about this word in the forum. Due to combinatory it will be very common to find words with certain letters that would trigger any non-contextual filter, 'his expert urban tie'.. find the words in there.

I noticed in edsm that my Buckyball Racer iCourier "Spirit of Icarus" got censored, I contacted customer support and they said that a part of the name is definitely a reason for it being censored, but they didn't say what.

Unless anyone can enlighten me about a non-English profanity, I can only assume that it's because if you imagine the r is an n then the last word spells Icanus...

They did tweak something to allow the name to work, but I've not had chance to look in the journal yet to see what changed as I'm flying a different ship at the moment.

On the subject of censorship, I wanted my forum name to be the same as my CMDR name, but the word r.a.b.b.i.t didn't make it through the filter. Hence Cruel_R. But it's ok to have the forum handle Ho Chi Minge, apparently.

Not that it's been bugging me FOR 3 YEARS.

I only wish the System would simply tell you "CMDR, you're free to select this specific Name/ID String, but our automated Systems will censor it".

Given how weird it seems to be, there's no way of telling otherwise.

(I assume it has a huge filter list of bad/swear words of 256 Languages plus Klingon and ancient Irish... I guess you could give your Ship Roman letter numbers and still get it censored somehow xD )

Oh, and compared to that... don't even ask me what CMDR Names I've seen on Ships - and during Exploration on Planet Tags.
Don't ask. I couldn't answer anyway, since the Forum would plaster me with Filters and Moderators hit me with the Infraction stick.

I wanted to name my Cutter "Impulse Buy", but that got filtered. I'm stumped which part of that is offensive. Maybe insufficiently imperial? It's now the "Impulse Bask" which is apparently acceptable.

PEGI 7. Just remember. PEGI 7. Oh and ESRB of 'Teen'. Frontier will do their best to accommodate; but PEGI 7 is essentially no bad words (but just beating the crap out of people is fine). I have no idea why Elite wasn't set to PEGI 13; as that would have been considerably more sane, as this allows mild profanity and slightly broader concept of violence.

Anyhoo. PEGI 7. Ya'll have to use them good words the lord has said to use, only. I have no idea how it's maintained the rating it has. PEGI 7 is really low for something like this.
