I had been considering to come back from Colonia, to partake in AX combat...am I really understanding this correctly? If so, I'm out on that idea!

So currently in my fleet, I have:

Cutter with 4x Modified shards
Krait II with 3x Modified gauss
Python with 3x Modified Plasma chargers
Viper MKIV (at an impressive 3200 hull health (my most fun ship to fly)), recently configured with 2x Gauss but now temporarily outfitted with rails and ditching the caustic launcher for another heatsink.

If I'm understanding everything correctly, all of my stored Guardian modules (even those not attached to ships) effectively need re-grinded for, and all modified (Salvation) hard points need entire new versions? They really just pointlessly obseleted all the vanilla and pre-engineered Guardian stuff? If so, then I'm confused about why FDev is confused about newcomers finding the "grind highway" to AX combat in of itself being daunting... I don't even want to do it all again!

My buddy bailed in the middle of grinding for the Guardian modules in the first place. He's literally still parked somewhere out in a Guardian site with 3-4 billion locked away in his carrier for over a year now (having quit just before the Salvation narrative finale). So, now I get to tell him, "oh, FYI...those modules you were about done grinding for? Err...yeah...you have even more grinding to do for those err...now."

This is enough for me to "nope out" and just stay in Colonia. At this point? I'd rather continue to just choose ignorance. I can't wait to sign back in, after a long break, and hear that all the A-rated FSDs I have are no good because the Pilot's Federation has changed the jump algorithms within our systems, rendering our current FSDs paperweights, until you apply some new "core/ firmware upgrade," of which will require precious materials, ranging from 25 Military grade alloys, 15 Datamined wake exceptions, 25 units of some sort of cigars...and a laundry list of other things, "just because."

Where did you get that idea from? Everything is fine. Your current guardian weapons will work as normal.
What you may encounter is new Thargoids in certain areas which have an anti guardian field and will destroy your weapons though. In space and planetary CZs this isn't normally an issue. At spire sites you may want to just use human AX weapons instead which can be simply bought for credits.

Huh? Nope. They're going to work the same way as yesterday. No change.
What may be coming is something better if they combine the new supercruise overcharge drives with good jump range. But we're not sure yet how that will balance as only C class are yet released.

Watched a Galnet Youtube update stating that the Guardian Anti-Field project basically results in us having to re-grind to "protect" our modules from cannibalization. Which is effectively not unlike regrinding for them in the first place. Salvation issued weapons cannot be "treated" and would need outright repurchasing. So I'm guessing that means there are "protected" Salvation weapons. Which is basically just re-unlocking all of them again.

This was just satirical (?)

If you want these then yes, you'll need to gather some mats but:
You can't engineer the salvation modded weapons.
The engineering reduces damage.
They're only useful in a few specialist situations.
In those situations the human AX weapons work almost as well.

Basically it would allow you to take guardian weapons into the titan maelstrom. It gives options but all you really need to participate is a few human AX missiles to damage the titan.

So you can collect mats and treat the original Guardian hard points. Can you treat Guardian PDs and MRPs?
Salvation weapons cannot be treated, so Salvation weapons are pretty much exclusive to AX conflict zones?

And signal sources. They can also be used at spire sites but with caution, don't fire on leaving Orthrus, just the ones arriving, to avoid triggering the anti guardian field.
In CZs you can get glaives which also have anti guardian but if you kill them quickly this isn't a problem.
Titan is permanent anti guardian field though so no salvation weapons there.

OP. don't you despair! Sooner or later you will be able to shell out a little money to get all that shiny new stuff without grind at all. :ROFLMAO:
FDev's recent move seems to spark quite some conspiracy theories. And you know what is the difference between CTs and headline news these days? 2 weeks.

LOL!
I doubt it. The builds I've seen so far, in terms of mounts, were weak by design. Pretty sure there was an AX Chieftain I saw with only 2x C1 Gauss build lol. Nobody C1s where C2 and above are present but I could probably stick those on my Viper and have it make more sense.

Well not those ones as they can’t be moved from that Chieftain!
