Engineers I hate the Engineers update

It might be more productive to keep reporting bugs and giving more to the point, detailed comments on stuff that irks you instead of posting another one of these pointless and rants that have no actual content.

It might be more productive if FD could figure out after 2 years that introducing bugged missions every update isn't being very helpful. The base keeps reporting, but they never seem to get it.

And it seems you're not even counting the absurdity of the gambling mechanic either... Honestly, the only promise Fdev delivered on was a tougher ai (when it doesn't bug out...STILL....).
-Crafting? Not delivered.
-Ability to customize weapon colors? Not delivered. (granted this is about as minor as it can get but it was still promised so...)
-Customize your ship? Not delivered.
-Fixed missions? Not delivered.
-Improved graphical performance? Halfway delivered.

They should just rename the game to Elite: Gambling and be done with it.

He's not being sarcastic in my view. Bringing the RNG at the end of a massive grind to get the materials is literally about as insulting as it can get. He's right. They completely fubard this update

Grindy, tedious resource collection, unbalanced/overpowered npc, bugged missions (old and very annoying), russian roulette so called crafting, with engineers, instant interdictions (again), no npc scaling between high security and anarchy sytems (again).

Despite many bug reports and feedback we have a disappointing patch which is driving people away.

As usual at each every update.

It is perfectly fine and affects everyone equally, ED has never been a game designed around instant gratification, no sandbox game is, so get over it, or move on if you are not in it for the long term.

I have not had a single bugged mission and I am running more than I have in a long time. I accept some folks might run into the occasional mission bug but they are hardly widespread or game breaking.

there are some interesting improvments in this update.
there are also some good new features.

generally is a good update

BUT

Honestly i find the Engineers made in a very bad way. An horrible game mechanic for a game like this.

p.s. can someone explain me why planets 2.1 now are graphically worse than in the 2.0 version ?
on surface with the SRV they are ok, but when you fly with the ship they look totally afwul, what the hell is going on ?

Got blown up for first time in a long while in my Asp - npc AI totally over the top so game is not playable solo with this update. Had quite a pile of uncollected bounties I was trying to get to the Empire to cash in. So, fed up with feeling cheated out of what I was owed and will be saying goodbye to Elite.

Yep same here, 2 million down to AI's ? just exploring returning to cash in and wham twice on the trot. Dunno what's going on but the biasing is OTT.

Almost unplayable in effect, cant get close enough to a station without getting killed, great incentive THAT!!

If anyone from Frontier reads these forums I REALLY hope a patch is released soon to address these issues. ED is one of my favourite games and I have such high hopes for it. Let's hope 2.1 gets fixed and the fun factor is restored to the thousands of unhappy players who are desperately trying to fight past the insults to make the team know how they feel. The game should appeal to a wide variety of players and NOT just a small handful of highly skilled combat junkies.

probably in frontier someone made the wrong assumption that to entice people to go to the engineers making the npc more powerful would have been the only reasonable thing to do (combo that also entice who doesn't yet have the horizon season pass, to buy it)

if this is true, there will be no patch or whatever... simply this is the game now, take it or leave it.

I just need to vent here. I hate 2.1. I hate it because of the sheer number of bugs and issues new to the update, and for so many unresolved issues from earlier versions.

I know it's only day 2 and that there would be some hiccups, but this is ridiculous. It feels like an early access game. What was the point of the beta? Did no one issue bug reports? Did Frontier not read the reports?

I've submitted some reports and read many of the others, and I don't even want to play my favorite game for the sheer immersion-breaking graphical issues and the anxiety that I may fall prey to any of the numerous problems.

At first I was bummed that the update dropped while I was halfway between Sag A* and home, because I wouldn't be able to check out many of the new features. Now? I'm glad I'm far away from it all.

Give me back 2.0.08. At least it worked.

You didn't test yet the RNG... you should love it :)
