I have a question how come jurassic world evolution is different then jurassic park operation genesis?

My opinion is jurassic park operation genesis has more awesome futures then jurassic world evolution am I right? Like yea jurassic world evolution is coming along nicely but it still needs to add alot more futures to be able to beat jurassic park operation genesis futures.

Like a few of the most important futures are the custom island were we can create are own island like the one from jurassic park operation genesis. Also raptors to be able to climb fences especially when the power goes out, We need cleaner stations. And so many other things from jurassic park operation genesis that needs to be added:) To make jurassic world evolution even more fun to play:D

Plz add almost all the stuff from jurassic park operation genesis frontier :D you can add soo many cool things. AND keep up the great work:)

JPOG was made by an entirely different company.

Frontier isn’t trying to make JPOG2, this isn’t JPOG2. Its JWE. It’s its own game with its own gameplay style and features. Frontier isn’t trying to “beat” JPOG they’re just trying to make their own game.

You and the other handful of folks who are constantly complaining about those facts need to just go play JPOG if you want to play JPOG and stop filling the forums with comments about how JWE isn’t enough like JPOG. :/

Edit: I’m a doofus apparently JPOG was on consoles durr.

JPOG was made by an entirely different company and was PC-only. JWE has to function on consoles so something as CPU-intensive as generating an entire random island in current-gen graphics isn’t possible.

I agree with this, but JPOG was not PC exclusive, it came out on the PS2 and XBOX as well.

Also, JPOG was made during a time where a game has to be shipped out as complete as possible without patches, so a lot of content ends up missing.
JWE is made where patches and DLC are part of the norm, so even if the game came out lacking, there is still room to officially improve it.

It's because they aren't connected to it in any way or shape or form, despite the two games having some things in common. Community manager Paul_Crowther confirmed this to me directly on an old dead thread of mine I made to clear out an ongoing question to confirm my suspicion about what people back in the days were claiming it to be: A game that's connected to JP:OG due to similarities.

I know there not the same. But its just my opinion. I'm not complaining at all. Can I post my opinion.?

I really hope you guys don't think this is a complaining thread cause it was not meant to be one:( so I really don't understand why some might think it is?

All it is is just my opinion that is all :) I'm just saying they should add these futures if they can:)

for me there's no need to add random generated islands. when you play challenge mode, there's like a total of 10 different islands you can play on. plus with the return to JP DLC, it may add another 2 more islands. yes it is different than having randomized ones, but at least you can choose which one you wanna play. now i've come to realize the value of challenge mode, just playing on medium difficulty i get the feeling like running a park like from the films. excavating fossils, extracting them until you get 100% genome. then doing your research and slowly but surely expanding your park. and medium difficulty is not that stressful as jurassic diff. i'm just enjoying my time. then come dec 10 with the new DLC, it'll feel more like the 1993 park. with the helipad as the visitor entrance so like in JPOG you can choose your park entrance. plus no viewing galleries / towers, just a safari tour. less buildings, so more space in your park. and with the added vehicle destruction, i really get the feeling of being immersed in a real simulated JP game. :D thumbs up to Frontier. it's not perfect but JWE HAS COME A LONG WAY. it is a satisfactory JP game for me. :)

Not at all, and I hope it does not come out harsh. :)

The thing is that the game has been compared with JPOG a lot since its inception, and that logic makes sense since they are both games based on building parks in the Jurassic Park/World franchise, and in its initial release that made sense since the game was truly lacking in areas that a standard tycoon game would have, let alone JPOG. But over the year and half of the game's initial launch that JWE is starting to become its own identity far from that of JPOG. Where it only had a single campaign, now it has challenge mode with difficulty setting, multiple campaign direction, and sandbox on all islands.

My opinion is jurassic park operation genesis has more awesome futures then jurassic world evolution am I right?

This is your opinion, and that is fine we all have them (we are human :p). It is just very different from how a lot of the player base see it.

JPOG is a fun game BUT it has a lot of lacking features that JWE has such as more building options which includes hotels, monorails, and buildings for research, DNA extraction, and fossil excavation to name some. A drivable jeep not just tied to tours, but has introduced a close up experience in the park that allows us to approach the dinosaurs, a genetics lab that lets us play with the DNA we have and customise our dinosaurs, different feeding options that range from standard, to live goat, paleobotany, and fish and much much more.

It’s just with the request to add stuff JPOG had to make JWE BEAT it comes out off. Having all JPOG features to be included for it to be better than JPOG undermines all the other additions. Will they be added? I don't doubt that. The game so far already adds a lot of the cut content and is in the process in adding more than what we are expecting like decorations not tied to paths, aerial creatures, proper acknowledgement of the Jurassic Park past, and even compsognathus (which are the tiniest free roaming creature I experienced in a tycoon game!)

I do hope this does not deter you in anyway shape or form. I just think the game needs more than JPOG assets and features to make it stand out from other tycoon games :)

I like it more now then before:D and I agree:) can't wait for vehicle destruction hype!!!!!!!

I don't mind when people want something added to JWE that was also in JPOG. I just get annoyed when people argue that something should be added to JWE solely because it was in JPOG. For example, a while back I saw a thread that suggested that heat waves be added into JWE. I braced myself for another "iT Was in jpOG ThErEforE it shOUld be In JwE" but they actually made a good case for it, including interesting ways that it would affect gameplay. The initial desire to suggest adding heat waves was definitely based on the fact that it was in JPOG, but the person who brought up the suggestion took it a step further, so their argument wasn't purely based on nostalgia. Let's tie this to what you said about adding cleaning stations, for example. How will cleaning stations function and affect gameplay? What will differentiate it from JPOG so it's not a mindless copy and paste based on nostalgia?

JPOG and JWE have almost nothing to do with each other. Different game entirely.

Honestly I personally found JPOG kinda dull. It's really not that good. Zoo Tycoon was much, much better.

And JWE doesn't even compare as it's a different type of game completely. The comparison doesn't even make sense.

JWE is a much better game. In terms of technical ability it blows JPOG away. JPOG is a bad game, it was bad in 2003 and it is bad now. It was only popular and it wasn't that popular to begin with, because it was the only game on the market that allowed you to build a dinosaur zoo using the JP license/branding and themes. Also some people refuse to take off their nostalgia glasses.

JPOG is just something people would look at with curiosity now. with the JP DLC on the way there is really no reason to play JPOG anymore.

This is actually a misconception. JWE has more dinosaurs, features and is overall nicer/more complex BUT it has a number of obvious shortcomings/flaws. JPOG was actually limited if you look at it - even its "campaign" missions, all basically in the same place, even if I loved some of them. JWE allows you to do more stuff - in JW, rather than JP style. Heck, even visitor feedback is more detailed in JWE - however, it's presented in that impersonal GUI, and it relates to food/shopping, rather than the more personalised/palatable feedback we saw in JPOG, such as "I want to see dinos MAULING each other!"

The major pluses of JPOG are, IMHO, the island creation procedure which randomised gameplay, even if OFC they could be manipulated, and the uncomparable advantage of modding by relying on accessible data files. Why Frontier doesn't expose their content, AT LEAST the gameplay constants / content, including audio, & textures, even without 3d models, is a mystery which may very well be mistaken for deliberate, stubborn stupidity. Probably not caused by them, but still.

Unlike JWE, JPOG was very focused - in the sense, park builder old-school ALA RollerCoaster Tycoon. No plot, not even an excuse for it - just the park building objective with lots of sandbox-like replayability. Fewer features, but developed to a (somewhat) greater extent.
JWE tries to be many things at once, which of course at launch it couldn't be - and because of that it suffered from a lack of replay value, unlike JPOG. However, unlike JPOG, JWE is improving with lots of features such as the dynamic sandbox mode options, and many other things.

JPOG was simpler but it did a lot more with much less. Just look at dinosaur behavior. With a few animations they made dinosaurs with much better behavior. Theropods would chase and bite down herbivores. Raptors latched onto them in groups and could climb fences. Animals such Triceratops would actually defend themselves as a herd from an aproaching carnivore. In JWE everything is fixed. Defenseless herbivores will simply go into place and the carnivore will hunt them down with no chance of failure. A herd of Trikes will act as if nothing is happening while a single individual fights a T. rex right next to them.

While I have not personally played JPOG from what I’ve heard I can agree with this. Animal behavior and overall AI is one of JWE’s major weak spots, and one I hope Frontier addresses sooner rather than later. Everything in JWE feels staged and unnatural.

The dinosaur behavior in JPOG wasn't that great. The AI was quite bad actually. JPOG only had what little behavior it did because the game had a Site B mode. JWE is purely a park builder so there is no need for that kind of AI/behavior.
